Making progress

Friday, February 01, 2013

When the scale battery died, I didn't replace it. I went into the clinic and weighed in every week. But it was getting to be a bit of a hassle. I live in the country and have to drive into town. So, I decided I would replace the battery in my scale. I told my hubby that I would not let the scale mess with my mind anymore. I meant it.

Then this morning I stepped on the scale and I was back almost to the beginning weight I started with Dec. 2. Let me tell you, the tears were very close to the surface. My hubby sat across the room not knowing what to say. He knows how hard I've been working out. He also knows that I have been counting calories - not perfectly but good enough. He sympathized and then wondered if we should get rid of the scale again.

Today is February 1 ... time to measure the body again to track inches. I was afraid to measure, but I asked Hubs to help me. emoticon I lost 3 inches this past month!!! So far, since Dec. 2, I have lost 5 inches total off this old body. Everyone keeps telling me to hang in there because eventually the scale will budge. I hope so!

I'm ready to hit February hard. I WILL continue the exercise and watch the calories that go in my mouth. I WILL continue to see the inches go down!

I encourage anyone who is reading this post to not go just by the scale. Take the time to measure and keep track of those inches. I would have given up if I hadn't had the loss of inches to encourage me.

great loss!! --Your scale and the clinic's obviously are not weighing the same. Great lesson--don't rely on the scale alone!!

There are several ways to measure progress, the scale bing the most frustrating way for everybody. It tooke me since July 2007 to lose 62 lbs. I still have to work harder to fit into my old tuxedo whidh is my next goal which will take unbelievable efforts whidh I am ready to make happen so I can reach that goal which I have publicly announced. Now I have to do it. Keep focused for success. You can do it. Go for it.
