No Eating After 6pm?

Im sure you have heard of this diet trick. My friend at work told me she lost weight really fast by doing this but agreed it felt more like a crash diet. She thought it was due to the time between eating and going to bed, not necessarily less calorie intake.
Anyone have any thoughts about this? If it works. If its a good idea...

    I could stop eating after 6. But only if I went to bed at 7.

    Thanks everyone. Since im barely leaving the office at 6 I think it would be really tough to not have anything when I get home. Especially since im usually quite hungry...

    I regularly eat after 6pm and have lost weight. I couldn't go without eating that long. My blood sugar would get low.

    I don't agree with this dieting method. I have lost a LOT of weight while eating my last meal at 9:00pm.

    I think it's the QUALITY of the food that you eat that's important.

    However Breakfast is CRUTIAL to weight loss!

    The truth is your body don't know what time it is but going without food from early evening to the next morning is very beneficial as your digestive system is getting a rest and your body can concentrate on healing itself.
