How do I encourage myself to stay on track?

Mostly it is logging in to Sparkpeople each day and being encouraged by my Sparkfriends by reading their blogs and posts. I gain so much knowledge from their wise words and experiences.

I also have a picture hanging in my bedroom of me when I was in my 40's and weighing about 40 pounds less. I was so active then and felt so good....I want that back!

    I can't give credit where credit is due on this because I don't remember where I saw it. but a motivational saying that I have seen on Sparkpeople that has stuck with me is; Do not give up what you want the most for what you want at the moment. I hope I can remember this if I am tempted to eat over my calorie range for the day or to lay around instead of exercising.

    Gotta keep the long goal in mind, whether it's not buying those shoes to save money for the future, or not eating the pie to have the weight you want in the future.

    Great motivation! Use those sparks to trigger your plan to get active. Even walking for 10 or 15 minutes a day is a great addition to your routine! Start small, and work up.

    Yes, getting inspiration and ideas from our SparkFriends is great but remember, we have to actually "do" stuff too, not just read about it. One of my Fast Break goals is to read from an inspiring book each day but reading isn't going to get what I'm learning into my life. One has to have a plan.

    Keep your goal in mind and work toward it one day at a time. If you get off track, do not let that deter you. Get back on track! emoticon emoticon
