What now?

I gained back 2.5kg. Just like that. Well not just like that. I am an emotional eater.
I am stuck. I have some family issues that are not easy to fix. I don't really feel like using my treadmill or elliptical lately. I walk a lot though but that is not enough considering the amount of food that I put in. I hate to sound so hopeless and negative but that's where I am right now. Please send some positive thoughts towards me.

    Okay. You know your problem is stress, induced by family problems. You know that eating won't solve your family issues, and may even distract you from working toward solutions. How can you handle stress without resorting to food? Some of my favorites are bubble baths, herbal tea, calling a friend, writing private journal entries and public blogs, knitting and needlework where you can't get your project dirty with food, reading a novel, working a sudoku, meditation, etc. Exercise can help reduce stress, too, if working it into your schedule doesn't cause more stress. Best wishes on finding other effective ways to handle stress. Take really good care of yourself. You deserve it!

    Oh yeah, my family is full of crazies that can't ever just be drama free. Even when I'm not feeling motivated, I get in a workout anyway, it usually makes me feel better by the end.

    Right now you're in a mental battle that you CAN win. Think about it this way, you will be much better equip to handle the stress of family issues when you're putting the right fuel in your body and giving yourself a healthy outlet for your pent up emotions (the treadmill).

    Ugh, been there and your showing up here makes me know you want to move forward to activity and healthy living.

    How about this: I'd step back to the 10 minutes of activity a day, make sure to be diligent about water, and track my food. You can turn this around. You really can!
