That moment when...

I was coming home from work Friday. A long and challenging work week would be an understatement. I don't usually cook much on Friday evenings but was unable to make the usual Friday evening meal with friends so it was drive-thru time.
I contemplated my options and ultimately decided that I hadn't had a juicy burger in quite awhile. Simplicity was the order for the weekend so why not indulge. I'm not a fan of McDonald's, Burger King, or even Wendy's. I ultimately decided a steakburger from Freddy's Frozen Custards and Steakburgers was the choice.
I make my way up to the drive-thru. I'm looking at the menu and the choices and realize that the pictures and descriptions of the burger options were not only not appealing but they actually sounded gross. I could just feel the churning of my stomach that would follow a meal like that from all the grease.
Fortunately, nobody else was behind me in the drive-thru. I put the car in reverse, left Freddy's, and opted for Quiznos sandwich instead. It was a defining moment for me.
In essence, it was the moment that I realized I have successfully changed my eating habits. Don't get me wrong, I do still like a burger once in awhile and I do indeed splurge from time to time. Still, my habits have changed so much that a loaded down double and extra juicy steakburger just seemed - well...unhealthy and not the burger option that I wanted to use as my splurge.
Follow it up with a trip to the grocery store today and the bulk of my shopping cart was veggies, fruits, and dairy products.
That other moment when I realize that the contents of my shopping cart are now also filled with more veggies and fruits than anything else.
