From Queen of the Night to Day Time Diva

I read an article about working third shift...and posted a comment there. That is what got me thinking about this big change that happened in my life.
Learning to cope with being a day worker...not a night worker.
For 12 years I worked full time night-shifts, in charge, on an extended care. I was Queen of the Night. I even used to sign off my emails to my boss with that. He would come in to work as I was leaving and say, "Hello Queen...how was your night?"
For 12 years I would come home from work. Do some mindless stuff to wind myself down from my night shift activities/challenges. Kick everyone out of the house...to work or to school. Then I would settle into a pitch black room with white noise running to drown out the day noises. It was bliss. Bed to myself. No one snoring or being all sweaty beside me. Getting up in the late afternoon when my loved ones came home. Sharing the evening with them. Me going to work at 1045pm and the house-hold going to bed for the night.
It worked for me.
Then the great AHS rotational shake-up happened. I got punted out of my full nights onto a days/evenings rotation. Now I have to figure out how to adjust my life to this. How to share a bed...or to have separate ones. Activities that are difficult to join in because they occur in the evenings when I am working...such as the dance team fiance and I recently had joined.
And the MOST IMPORTANT...what can my boss call me now?? He came over to me the other day and started to call me Queen...he said, "Hello Quee....now I don't know what to call you..."
So I said, " You may call me Daytime Diva".
And so I am...and so he is calling me this:)
