    It is hard to pick up after a tragedy, but it sounds like you are off to a good start. It is a moment by moment decision.. to choose the healthier option.
    Sometimes the hurt wants to make us turn to food for comfort, but that is a pretty vicious cycle, because after we get that little bit of gratification, the bad feelings bubble to the surface anyways. Some things I have learned to do instead of eat are to walk it out, take a shower and cry my eyes out, write my feelings out, call a friend, take 10 minutes and write myself a thankful list, because we really do have a lot to be thankful for, even in the midst of tragedies. One of my most therapeutic has been long walks with a good friend.
    Accept the fact that there is hurt, that there are very sad moments, that there are times of regrets and I wish I would haves. They are a part of life; but at the same time, keep on looking forward. Life is still happening, it is now. You will make it through those times, although they seem so big right now, they will not be that way forever. Although the hurt will surface at times, it will not be the focal point of life forever. And that is okay. It is healthy for you, and for your family. You will make it! {{{{{Hugs to you!!!}}}}}

    Thank u for the kinda words of encouragment. Today I walked 25 mins, 1.5 miles. I realize that I can't change or fix somethings. I have to walk thru them.

    Alritea we are all here for you. Every incident in our lives truly is for a reason. Even the ugliest events. There's always something to learn from it/them so long as you can "see" past the pain you're feeling at the moment. It takes time ... you will see the end of that black tunnel if you remain strong and determined. You are strong. emoticon emoticon emoticon
