On Thursday I had lunch with dear friends; hadn't seen either in about 6 months. Well, neither could get over the change in me; they were shocked--in a good way--by my appearance. Even though we talked about several topics, they kept going back to what I was doing and how good I looked.
In fact, one of them e-mailed me later asked for details of my treadmill workout and diet. So, I was able to tell her about my treadmill approach and correct her about losing weight: I'm not on a diet; I'm changing my lifestyle. I explained that I'm looking for something that I'll keep doing, and a diet isn't one of them. I look for lifestyle changes that work with my life. If the change doesn't work, I don't do it or keep it; I drop it and try something else.
I'll see them in about 6 months, again, and I'm motivated and inspired to make their jaws drop again. And I hope to have a positive effect on my friend's choices to change her life style.
