I don't know why I get to experience all these wonderful conditions
emoticon emoticon ,
HOWEVER, I have Chronic Hives, AGAIN! These are an auto immune condition and take forever to get over. I feel like I have them inside and outside! emoticon
Did you know there are over 7,000 auto immune conditions? Me neither. We never hear about all the others. My doc first says I'm on too many meds, then prescribes three more. Sigh ...

Have you ever heard anyone groan and moan more than me? Sorry to lay it on you again, but I feel that if any group would know what it's like, it's my SparkPeople Pals.

Any suggestions on how to take the itch away, my sweet friends??? Anything would be appreciated.

Of course, my oxygen level is too low. (See previous Blog).

I really appreciate you all. emoticon

Luv ya,

I think they sell some quortazone cremes for itch. but when you get that rash have you ever tried echineacha? It's pure sulfur in natural form, it's usually in cold med's, and can stop colds, or reactions with just taking two pills. It costs around $15.00, and you get it in the vitamin section. But if you don't want to take medicines for the rest of your life on these hives, why not try taking "Garden of life, Ultimate Probiotics, cost $40.00, 3 capsules daily. It stops inflammation. That's want hives are, a reaction to something touched or eaten.

My husband had hives so bad, that the hospital put him on prednisone on an I.V. and had to get a new dose every six hours. It was a long week for him.

I figured he had a food allergy and had him privately tested. They took his blood and sent it away somewhere and tested for over 400 kinds of foods and spices. Yep. Egg whites, navy beans, beef and milk. Go figure.

That's all I have for information for you.

I really feel for you. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Yikes! That is awful! You need to find out what you are reacting to! Good ointment suggestions, but you probably should take an antihistamine as well!
I learned people with RA usually get allergies too. Why not? A wonky immune system can really affect anything!!
Feel better soon, sending soothing and healing thoughts as well as a kick to that insurance system of yours for not providing better care!!

There is an over the counter medicine called Caladryl. It is a topical liquid that you dob on with a cotton ball and it takes the intense itch away almost immediately. It looks horrible on like a bad makeup job but it is so worth it. My doctor recommended it for the kids Chickenpox rash. It keeps you from scratching in your sleep and making things worse. It is a combination of Calamine lotion and Benadryl. Hives are no fun.
    Hope you feel better quickly.

Have you tried a colloidal oatmeal bath? AVEENO is what I used for the kids when they had both measles and chicken pox. It reduces the itchiness. So sorry.

I can't believe it. The insurance company still hasn't re-thought their position on the bi-pap machine!? That is unconscionable. No other word for it. SHAME ON THEM, for all the good that does!

Sorry you're so uncomfortable, my dear one.

Wow! I know how miserable the hives can be. Can your doctor prescribe something for them? Good luck!
