Happy 4th today

Friday, July 04, 2014

Today is the day everyone barbeques, spends time with family and friends and watches fireworks. As I said in my last blog, Independence day means more to me than just the previous, but this is a great day for remembering our country and where this country came from. The founding fathers were not perfect, but they wanted the freedoms that they believed God gave them, and they did not want to be accountable to a king. The President we have in office today would make them roll over in their graves. The Constitution was never given to us to allow one man have complete control over this country. We also should remember that our freedoms were bought with a price. It wasn't free.

Have a great Fourth everyone.

I agree with you. Our founding fathers did not serve in Congress for 2-4 years and go home rich and taken care of for the rest of their lives. They went home and went to work providing for their family's. Another thing about our forefathers.. they served in the military they fought in the wars, they didn't stay home with exemptions paid for with their family's money. How many of our current Senators and Congressmen serve in active duty military branches? Our Veterans would make better leaders in Washington. emoticon emoticon Hugs Pat

I agree with you 100% see my reflection for the day. Independence Day has a special meaning to me this year as well. It was a year ago that I got serious about losing weight. I have lost 100 lbs. and I feel that I have independence from the poor health I experienced last year. I can move better this year, I feel better and I have independence from the many prescription drugs I have gotten off of this year. So many reasons to celebrate, but we can't forget the many freedoms that we have in this country that we take for granted so often. Thanks Deb for sharing.
