No Ordinary Eggs

Wednesday, July 09, 2014

I saw this quote this morning on artist Lesley Riley's blog sign-up page. Hadn't read this quote by C.S. Lewis before, and I love the way it relates to my Spark goals!

"It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg.
We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg.
We must be hatched or go bad."

An egg is a beginning - with lots of promise for the future.
I can see how you feel that way about your Spark goals.
You have experienced success, but have not yet achieved your goals.
    Most of us have not.

Backsliding is, I believe, an important part of the process -- it teaches us lessons to be learned to achieve permanent success.
Someone who has lost then regained then starts again, understands more about the process than someone just starting out.

When looking at ourselves as whole persons, I believe we are more than the egg.
I believe we are birds learning how to spread our wings and fly.
All we need is the courage and determination to soar in the direction we choose.

    Happy Flying!
