The "Picky Adams" menu plan

Alrighty then. Here it is...my super crazy, quasi-healthy, multi-level menu for 21 days of dinners for our picky family.

Our bases are 6 Bread meals, 6 Pasta meals and 6 Potato meals + 3 rice meals.

The key is #1 for my adjustments (lower carb + extra veggies) #2 for Moose (7 yr old with Autism), #3 for Big Daddy and #4 for Bubba (18 yr old with CP)


Ground turkey in gravy over biscuits with california blend veggies on the side
#1 half a biscuit + salad on the side #2 a small burger made from the ground turkey with a biscuit and raw carrots

Chicken quesedillas & veggie soup
#1 a small salad with chicken breast, cheese and salsa (instead of dressing) and the soup #2 the quesedillas with raw pepper strips and carrot sticks #3 The quesedillas with a honeymoon salad (lettuce alone)

Build your own Sourdough Pizza slices & Salad
#1 eggplant slice pizzas & salad

Turkey Tacos & salad
#1 Turkey taco salad #2 turkey & cheese quesedillas (with NO seasoning) and raw cucumber and pepper strips

French Toast with eggs and fruit salad
#1 1 piece of french toast + egg white scramble with shredded zucchini, spinach and onion & fruit salad #2 egg sandwich and fruit salad

Grilled cheese and tomato soup
#1 No grilled cheese and add 1c frozen mixed veggies to my tomato soup #2 cheese and crackers + raw carrots and celery


Bowties with steamed broccoli, chicken breast and parmesan cheese
#1 1c steamed cauliflower in place of the pasta + sautéed onions and kale with broc, chicken & parm
#2 Bowties with chicken and parmesan + raw celery and pepper strips

Sesame ginger lo mein with chicken
#1 bean sprouts, shredded red cabbage and onions in place of 1/2 the noodles #2&3 Chicken on a stick, noodles with just butter and a little soy sauce + raw carrots and pineapple

Spaghetti and meatballs in sauce with salad
#1 steamed cauliflower instead of the pasta with meatballs and salad. #2 no sauce, just butter and cheese

Penne with pumpkin curry sauce, turkey sausage and brassily sprouts
#1 spaghetti squash instead of the pasta #2 no sauce or brassily sprouts. Carrots and apple instead. #3 carrots instead of brassily sprouts

Pork in gravy over rotini with steamed carrots
#1 sautéed pork, onions, kale and apples with steamed carrots #2 a thin pork chop, rotini with butter and cheese and raw carrots and celery on the side

Apricot chicken bake with egg noodles (alot like a kugel) & salad
#1 Apricot chicken and mushrooms over spaghetti squash + salad #2 slices of baked chicken breast, egg noodles with butter and cheese + dried apricots and pepper strips


Shepherds pie
#1 Riced Cauliflower instead of the potatoes + a salad on the side #2 Mashed potatoes, turkey burger + raw celery and carrots #3 No veggies in his pie but steamed broccoli on the side

Loaded (with mixed veggies) bacon, cheddar baked potatoes
#1 baked sweet potato topped with onions, kale and bacon bits, steamed carrots and broccoli + a side salad #2 He will eat this, but it has to come deconstructed on the plate so he can eat it individually instead of all together and raw veggies instead of cooked. #3 no veggies in the potato, steamed carrots and broccoli on the side

Greek chicken breasts, rosemary mashed potatoes and brassily sprouts
#1 rosemary roasted butternut instead of the potatoes #2 raw cucumber and pear instead of the brussels #3 steamed broccoli instead of the brassily sprouts

BBQ cheeseburger topped baked potatoes & salad
#1&2 small burger topped with cheese, small baked potato + raw carrots and celery (+ a salad for me)

Pot roast, spiced potatoes and corn
#1 sweet potatoes in place of regular potatoes + wilted spinach and pear salad, pot roast and corn. #2 roast beef sandwich with chips an apple and pepper strips

Sausage potato soup (zupa Toscana) & garlic bread
#1 add 1c chopped kale to my soup (it's actually really yummy :) #2 garlic bread, sausage patty, raw carrots and celery #4 Sausage, kale and potato stir fry with garlic bread


Thai peanut chicken and vegetables over steamed brown rice
#1 steamed cauliflower instead of rice #2 chicken on a stick, baked french fries + raw pepper strips and carrots #3 white rice instead of brown

Curried orange beef and carrots over sesame jasmine rice
#1 spaghetti squash instead of the rice #2 sliced steak sandwich with raw carrots and an apple

Beef paprikash over rice with steamed broccoli
#1 steamed rutabaga instead of the rice + sautéed apples and red cabbage #2 sliced beef, raw celery and a pear + garlic bread

As you can see, most of the meals cater towards my husband and older kids. They eat many more vegetables than he does, but if they want them I can just make extra of the extra veggies I make for my self. Hopefully I pay attention to the adjustments that need to be made for each meal before I make it so I know what to pull out for whom and when. If not...well, there's always PB&J ;-)

    I totally understand the issues with cooking for a picky family. DS is celiac, DD hates meat and veggies, DH only likes meat and desserts. Sigh.
