Return For My Sake

Well, I'm back everyone! It's been over a year since my last blog post, but I've found a reason to come back.
Things have really gotten interesting since I've been gone. I'm still in college, and have a little over a year before I get my Associate of Science degree. I am now a part of TRiO, or Student Support Services, which is a group of tutors and councilors with their own office who help students as they need it, especially those with Disability Services. I'm working with one of the councilors on securing a scholarship for Autistic Scholars, and may look for others to help me in the long run. My goal with the scholarships is to get to a point where I can quit my job, in order to have more time and energy to focus on my future. I've also submitted an application to the schools new Diversity Club, and the leader is thinking of making me an officer. I've also joined the Gamers Club to have more of a social outlet.
On the home side of things, I am now in a committed relationship with a wonderful girlfriend named Lilly, and am developing a good relationship with my 2 1/2 year old nephew. On that count, I'm happy. Not everything is good though. I don't get as much time to exercise as I would like because of my busy schedule, but perhaps I just need to change how I isolate after a busy day. Also, recently my Dad was diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus, a nasty and painful condition where the esophagus has been consistently exposed to stomach acid for so long that the linings cells are changing to be similar to those found in the lining of the intestines. It increases risk of cancer, and requires life-long lifestyle changes to treat. As I myself developed GERD at a young age, I have a higher risk of getting this condition if I don't take care of myself. So, for the sake of both my Father and myself, I'm back on the horse!
In order to help combat my Father's disease and prevent myself from getting it, I'm going to be making more healthy recipes at dinner, and will start looking into healthier lunch and snack options. I should also look into eating more like a Hobbit, and have more meals with smaller portions throughout the day. Eating light can satisfy me for about 2-3 hours, so I just need ready to eat light meals for my breaks at work instead of my usual snacks. I'm going to see about setting aside time to do small fast workouts every day to increase my fitness levels. I'm thinking a mix of yoga and dancing, as I don't have the means to commit to a martial arts class, no matter how much I enjoy them.
So yeah, those are my current plans. If anyone has any advice to give me, please do so. Any input can help with getting my life in order.
