It seems being on vacation for 8 days has completely disrupted my routine and I'm having a hard time getting it back. Since we've been home I have gotten out each morning for my walk with Daisy. Today was the first day that I actually FELT like walking so I was going to take the longer path but..... by the time we got to the path I could see little raindrops on the ground. We opted for the shorter path and I am very glad because we were just getting to our driveway when we started getting full-out rain. It's actually very nice to listen to while I'm setting here in my office - rather peaceful.

We arrived home one week ago this evening and I have not done any formal exercise. Got on my stationary bike for about 12 minutes and it felt like an hour. I have, however, taken several naps so I guess even though I felt plenty rested throughout the entire trip, perhaps I wasn't getting quite enough. I do feel rested this morning and I am quite sure I'll be doing some exercise today!

This afternoon we are attending my son Colin's Book Launch event for his 3rd historical fiction book about the early days of Minnesota. He is writing about what happened between the Dakota Indians and the US Government back in the early to mid 1800's. I'm embarrassed to say that I never knew how unfairly our government treated the Indians at that time - making promises to them that were never kept. We hear all about the uprisings and the killing of early settlers, but we were never told about why the Dakota were so angry.

If anyone is interested in learning more, here is a link to his website: www.colinmustful.com/

I've finished the 5% Summer Challenge with the Starfish Team. I didn't quite make my 5% weight loss, but I did loos about 3% so I'm calling that a win. I think I'll do it again in the fall, when there are no more vacations to distract me!

    Hi Kathy:

We are headed back to FL. Another full day of driving (about 8 hrs) then and overnight stay at a hotel and another 6.5 hours or so. We aren't really pushing it. As long as we can find a Drury Hotel we are happy campers. They have a nice clean bed, good clean rooms, a breakfast that has a few healthy items, a dinner about the same...you can find a few healthy items. They give each guest 3 drinks, and popcorn and free soft drinks. This has been quite the vacation...a lot of it was a real pisser...just basically unhappy..the middle section was sprinkled with good times and these last few days with our friends at their lake house was really pretty great.

Once we get back to FL we will have a few days before we go back to the consignment gallery. Then in about mid Sept. the days get crazy and LONG as the snow birds migrate back.

I will be burning the midnight candles so I'm going to enjoy every moment of vacation left! emoticon BIG congrats to your son for his new book..sounds VERY interesting! emoticon

WOw Kathy, you must be so very proud of your son….How cool that he has written a few books, an author! THat is so cool!
Hey, maybe you can change your routine to something that fits better for you today. Sometimes routines get old and loses it's energy…I bet if you add or tweak something during your day with Daisy, it might spark up something. What do you think?
Had a busy day, glad I am home, now need to invoice my client which always puts me in a good mood. Was suppose to hear from Lucy's mom to see if I can keep her until Monday but haven't heard from her at all. You would think she would want to know how Lucy is feeling? This is not a good scenario at all. In fact I am irritated a tad. Wouldn't you be?

Glad you enjoyed your vacation! You will eventually get back into your routine, but it may take a bit. Congratulations on your sons third book launch! His book sounds interesting. And I agree that 3% is a win... Any loss is a win in my book!
