Day #240 here in Spark Villa!

Tomorrow I will be starting my new adventure into Self-care. Today I want to finish a pin from pinterest entitled 'Things to do when you're feeling down'. These are the last suggestions under Be Spiritual:
*Listen to a sermon on line-It can be uplifting if the person giving this sermon is a good match for you.
*Pray with friends-That is uplifting
*Visit a Christian bookstore-I use to look for hours in the one in the town I use to live in.
*Attend a Bible Study-I use to love to before in the town I use to live in.
*Pray in a church building-don't we all?
*Organize a prayer meeting-this is not something I personally would not do.

There are 2 pins that really inspired me to start on this self care adventures.

*30 things to start doing for yourself. #18 start forgiving yourself and other's. I found that not forgiving ourselves and others hurts my relationship with God. In 2013 when I studied the fruits of the Spirit, I learned that forgiveness is part of love. We can not love and not forgive. It is so hard but worth it.

*50 ways to practice self-care. #20-do something for the 1st time; it can be something simple; like trying out a new restaurant.

The 2 challenges for now I am doing are:

*Declutter your home in a year. Today starts week # 41. I will be reading tips, etc about this week's missions.

*Fit Food Challenge. It is on how to store your produce. I never knew how to store my produce so this was very exciting for me to read. I may even pin the article on my pinterest.

73 more days until son's winter break. Yesterday went smoother then I figured except my dad was not feeling well and ended up in ER dehydration and a UTI. My son decided to come home again this coming weekend. He got a pick-up and has let his car sit here since he left and his car has been so sad that it was acting up on him Saturday when he went to drive it-lol. He is coming home to see what maybe wrong with it. I am happy he will be home again. My Fall Fun will be getting a squash and figuring out how to cook it for the first time wish will be great with #20 of my 50 ways to practice self care. I will be going power shopping today after breakfast with my aunt's and uncle's.

Keep Sparkling!

I agree with you on forgiveness. I've learned that things like grudges or resentment hurt the people more who hold on to them, and that the best thing to do is to let it go and move on, for our relationship with God, and for spiritual growth. It is not always easy. This is something I am working on as well, but it is a very healing process. Best of luck with all of your goals emoticon

Forgiving ourselves and others is definitely a process, and a tough one at that, but like you said it is worth it! We are only hurting ourselves when we hold things like that in or hold grudges. I'm working on letting things go instead of letting them fester and I know it helps me a ton already, even though I have a long ways to go!

I second the motion on cooking the squash in the micro. Be sure to poke holes in it though. I also put it on a plate (paper plate . . . whatever). Easy peasy. Spaghetti squash is the first squash I ate and just love it.

Hope your DS can figure out what's wrong w/his car.

    So proud of you!

I am not a patient cook, so I microwave my squash. I love spaghetti squash, 15 minutes in microwave or almost an hour in the oven- easy choice for me. SP has some great recipes. Got for it!

Pray in a church building? No we don't all do that. I pray all the time. In church it is more a group prayer and part of the litany. My personal prayers- well I talk to HIM like I am talking to a friend. Somedays it is all about gratitude, prayers for others who need some help, and specific things I need help with. I call the God Breezes, but every day in some way he answers me. I love the song He Walks With Me. That is a daily thing whether I am in church or not.

I actually have been thinking about sponsoring a Bible study, about Women in the Bible. I find it so interesting that there were so many strong women in the Bible. Deborah comes to mind, she was a warrior and a judge, and God used her in amazing ways.

Forgiveness- that was a hard one for me, but when I realized that all the hurt and anger I was holding was like drinking poison. It didn't hurt the other person, it just hurt me. While there were hurtful things in my past, abuse, shaming- I let them go and haven't looked back. While I can talk about it, it no longer brings the hurt back when I think of it. I remember arguing with God about that one may times- LOL He Won!

I am so proud of you embracing your present and moving through the healing process! emoticon

Sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he is better. Cars do not like to just sit, you have to start them up every so often, that's what John says anyway. What kind of squash did you get?
Enjoy your power shopping and breakfast.

    Have a wonderful day!!!
