I have to say I'm happy with my results this past month, and those alarms I set for the weekend do work! While I didn't achieve every goal, I'm only 0.2 away from a total of 25 pounds lost on this journey, half way to goal! I have adjusted my own goals at Sparkpeople to be at my goal weight by our weigh in on May 24 of next year.
So now the holidays and their challenges are upon me, well, all of us really. I do hope to achieve a small loss this month, just a scant 2.3 that will move me to the next set of numbers. If I stick to my plan, I can do this. I start the holiday baking tomorrow, with my lovely granddaughter. I've had much discussions about this, some think I'm a silly person for even doing baking but I look at it this way: there are people in my life who expect a tin of baked goods from me and who otherwise would not receive baked goods at all, (I know, not the end of the world), BUT I also do honour to my mom by making up the recipes that she made, a big deal to my remaining family members who do not bake. Also, I enjoy it. At this point, it's the only time of year that I do it anymore. All that said though, I don't need to eat it. I've had it all before and could make it up at any point at any time should I really, really feel the desire for it. So here's my plan, I will do all my baking and teach my little Lily as I go along because that's giving her a Christmas memory too! I plan to have some holiday cheer, (possibly to include baked goods), the day we set up the tree and decorations which this year will probably be December 17. I will enjoy some of my baked goods on Christmas Day. Two days. Two days out of the entire month.
Every year in December we, at TOPS, buy 12 coupons of candy cash for $5. For every treat, (baked good, dessert, anything outside of regular healthy eats), costs you one of your candy cash coupons. At the end of December, any you have left are put in a draw for 70% of the accumulated cash raised. Well, I have never had any candy cash to put in the draw but this year I expect I will.
In November I had 22 "ON" days, I hope to meet or beat that this month. In 0.2 pounds I'm at 25 lbs lost and half way to goal, two charms from TOPS. In 1.0 pounds I can buy a new charm for my Pandora bracelet as that will put me 10 lbs less than I weighed on my birthday when it was received. In 2.0 pounds, I will have lost 10 lbs total for the year, enough to be recognized by TOPS. A funny note to that is that I've already lost over 15 lbs since my highest weight this year, August 01. Guess I'm on the right track!
