Eating out and phone fix
Saturday, August 26, 2017
I've been meaning to blog for the last few days and it keeps not getting done. I intended to take some new "before" pictures (although as I've lost about 7 lbs they wouldn't be true before pics). However, I keep forgetting to do that too LOL. Maybe tomorrow...
The last few days I've been eating a bit too much. I'm still in calorie range, but I'm at the very upper limit. I'm happy to be keeping in range though! I was craving Taco Bell the other day, and very carefully scoped out what I could have that would still keep my under my calories for the day....and then I went and got those two items, and nothing else! It tasted soooo good too! I know they say that once you give up fast food it doesn't taste as good, but that has NEVER been the case for me. I went almost 2 years with no fast food, and when I ate it for the first time I was in heaven. I am a true fast food junkie!
Then Thursday night my brother in law was in town, and we went out to eat. We ate at a seafood place that was just meh. I had some grilled oysters and a beet salad. I did eat two tiny cheddar biscuits but since the rest of my food was really tiny portions, I figure all total I only had 500 or maybe 600 cal. I actually had to eat a snack when I got home! I wanted to go somewhere and have a burger and fries, though, so it was good to have little portions of relatively healthy food.
I am going to be out of town week after next, and that is going to be challenging for sure. So proving to myself that I can eat fast food and restaurant food and still stay in calorie range is important!
So enough about food...two weeks ago I think I mentioned that I dropped my phone and the screen shattered. I really didn't want to spend several hundred dollars on a new phone, esp since this one was only about 6 months old. I watched several youtube videos and decided to attempt the repair myself (no cell phone repair place would touch it!). I did order the wrong part by mistake at first, so had to return that and get the right one, but $65 and several hours later, I have a perfectly functional phone! So now I know I have a fall-back job as cell phone repair tech if times get tough LOL.
It was very satisfying to be able to successfully fix it, I have to say. Now, we won't talk about the fact that I didn't realize I was supposed to pull the forward facing flash out of the old frame, so now I have a whole there and no working flash...but I don't take selfies anyway so it really isn't a big deal. That's the problem with watching videos to learn how to do this repair, they don't show everything!!!
