The Problem With Perfection
Saturday, November 25, 2017
As Churchill said, perfection can be the enemy of progress. Why?
Because often perfection is unattainable. We can try , but frustration sets in. I am never good enough becomes overwhelming. The mind is busily trying to find the right way. The heart gives up. Willpower will carry us only so far.
How do we reach those wonderful healthy goals then?
By a process of progression.
This allows us to grow, step by step. We focus on becoming better and forgive ourselves of our mistakes. We strive for the best that we can be, now, and in the future. We build ourselves up instead of tearing ourselves down. Its a firm foundation to build upon instead of a very shaky one.
