My Christmas Tree is already found. It is in a box that is long and brown.
We had the live when the children were here, until we had the "spider tree" year!
We had had mild fall weather, so we went out to look together
And bought a tree at a "cut your own" lot -- I remember that day -- it was almost hot!
We brought it home and put on the lights
I crawled under the tree to get the ornaments just right.
The next morn our son went in there
To enjoy the tree while he blow-dried his hair.
He screamed like a girl when he saw the sight (he's an arachniphobe)
Of spiders on tiny webs on every decoration and light
As the air from the dryer gave them flight.
I sprayed that tree, decorations and all
And found spiders in my car and house well into the fall.
So if your weather is warm and nice
When you buy your tree, heed my advice.
Spray that thing and don't bring it in
Until the bugs are all "has-beens"
Or you may awake to a bad surprise
That has spiders swinging before the next sunrise!
