Back what seems to be a million years ago, I was pregnant with my only child. I remember during the ninth month of pregnancy, I got on the scale. I had gained 45 pounds! I was so shocked and distressed. That number seemed beyond comprehension. It was hard for me to put my head around that number. Within months after having the baby, I was back down to my normal weight and that number on the scale became a distant memory.
That was decades ago. However that memory came back at the beginning of this year when I hopped on the scale for the first time in YEARS. OMG!!!!! Not only had that number came back, but I weighed even MORE. That same feeling of shock shook my bones. It was unbelievable! Even more traumatizing was the fact I wasn't even pregnant! LOL LOL
It wasn't a surprise I had gained so much weight over the years. It was obvious I had, but I didn't want to pay attention or care. Well, that number on the scale made me care again. My weight was not only shocking, it was just plain, very unhealthy. So now, I am doing something about it.
This is my fourth month and I can happily say, I weigh less than my pregnancy weight. Hooray for that! I still have to lose a lot more "baby weight". LOL LOL So I have met my first goal. As a present to myself, I bought these shoes. They will be a reminder to pay attention and care about myself. I am learning to do that right now.
