Week 2 Complete + Awesome Food Find!

Well, week 2 is done and my weigh in revealed that I lost 1 pound. In previous years, I would have been upset that I "only" lost 1 pound... but the way I see it now, a loss is a loss, no matter how small. As I keep saying... baby steps.

I am nursing a Nyquil hangover today and it sucks... big time. I haven't been sleeping properly for a while and last night I thought I'd take some Nyquil and go to bed super early and hopefully get caught up. I woke up this morning feeling worse which was unexpected, and now I'm suffering through work waiting for it to wear off. Guess I won't be doing that again LOL We live and we learn, right?

Oooh and I have some exciting news... I have found a way to get my son to eat broccoli!

When we went grocery shopping at Aldi over the weekend, I spied some kids veggie bites in the freezer section. They have broccoli, spinach and kale, and sweet potato.

I snuck a box of the broccoli ones into the cart and then into the freezer at home without him noticing... I felt like a ninja LOL They are like tater tots, but have broccoli and onion mixed in. Last night for dinner he asked for grilled chicken, and so I cooked up some of these broccoli bites to go with it. Of course he asked me what it was, and I told him to try it first. He did, although he was hesitant, and to his surprise (and mine) he loved them! When I told him that he'd just eaten broccoli he was like "no way!". Momma wins again! YES!!

If you shop at Aldi, look out for these veggie bites! They're delicious and the fun shapes make it easier to sneak more veggies onto kids plates... or if you're a big kid, like me, you can just enjoy eating fun shaped food!
