Curse of the Last 10 Lbs?

Sunday, November 25, 2018

Today marks the end of my second week in a row eating better & exercising consistently, yet no change on the scale, still weighing in at 148.8lbs. My lowest weight this year has been 145.6lbs but it slowly went back up after a few weeks of inconsistency and has been stubbornly staying there. I'm not sure what to do differently but at this point, I won't try and incorporate anything new. I eat between 1300 and 1700 calories on average daily, even on the days I go out since I balance my intake for the other 2 meals. I log my food into the nutrition tracker every day for the past 2 weeks, but I don't intend to do that for a lifetime so I don't want to add anything else I won't do for a lifetime either like cut out the foods I enjoy. A healthy life is about enjoying everything in moderation and balance, and while objectively I haven't seen any changes after being more consistent in recent weeks, here are the other benefits I've gained:

1. More consistent & easier bowel movements.

2. Flatter tummy/ less bloating.

3. More energy.

4. Better sleep quality.

5. The pride of knowing I'm making sustainable changes for my health.

Thus, I won't be derailed by the scale not giving me a favourable weight today. If after another 2 weeks I'm still plateauing then I'll try making changes then.. but that won't be easy. 🤣 After all, Christmas is here but I will indulge in moderation, measuring my portions & tracking it all on here so I can hold myself accountable.

Maybe too this is a sign that I should be content with being in a healthy range BMI but I don't like knowing I'm just 3lbs away from overweight again.
