Day 36: Doing the Things

So I've been doing all the things. It hasn't seemed to be helping me much in the weight loss department. I'll have to be patient there, I guess. Eventually if I keep doing the things, I'll see some results.

I did a session of cardio this morning. Cardio is pretty hard so it's usually the only thing I do on cardio days. I also did a chair workout with a resistance band yesterday afternoon in addition to the workout that I did in the morning. I've been getting ambitious about my workouts again.

Trying to eat healthier. I know my eating isn't really what it should be. My protein isn't as high as it should be right now either. My fibre is closer to where it should be, though. The main thing is I have to get my calories within range. I know I'm hungrier because I'm working out a lot, but I need to focus on trying to eat as healthy as I can and making the best choices that I can.

I did several meditations yesterday. I'm definitely developing the ability to meditate more and perhaps longer. I have more focus, more clarity, more wisdom, and more insight.

Read a chapter of Being of Power and two chapters of The World of Tibetan Buddhism. Reading is going pretty well, although right now the reading I'm doing is more contemplative stuff and not really light reading. To try to remember everything I've read is probably futile but to at least get something out of it is what is important.

Listened to a couple of podcasts yesterday. One was on how important sleep is, which is of course something I am well aware of. It made me think about the sleep tracker on the Fitbit and how it rates your sleep. My sleep is generally "fair" and sometimes "good". Once in a while it's "poor". Just thinking about how that affects athletic performance. Today I plan on listening to a podcast about how to stay focused when your plans don't go as planned.

Today is a smoke-free day for me. I haven't smoked at all so far, so doing good.

Managed to get 8 glasses of water yesterday, so doing well with drinking water. Seem to be hitting all of my goals right now. Now just to keep up the momentum.
