I'm am very happy with how my 2020 weight loss journey is going. I was upset about the wee gain last week and took steps to correct it. My bestie was kind enough to remind me that when I start to eat healthy, I end up reducing my fat intake to nearly nothing. I don't believe I do it consciously but certainly I'm of a generation that was conditioned to believe fat was the enemy when it's not. You actual require a certain amount to maintain your health and waste disposal. I would have seen this had I been using some kind of food tracking ap, yes I know there's a Spark one and it's even on my phone, but in all honesty for me I like writing it in a journal. Having a hard copy. I find it far easier to review past dishes and for the most part don't believe I'm eating so unbalanced that I need macro tracking. Mind you if I had been macro tracking I would have also seen the need for more fat sooner on...
So, moving on! I'm adding butter to where butter can be added, a teaspoon at a time for 35 calories. A serving of steel cut oats cooked with half a serving of raisins and cinnamon, served up with a teaspoon each of brown sugar and butter tastes amazing and is all of 260 calories. When you bring it to the office to eat at your desk your co-workers think you have cinnamon buns. Oh their disappointment this week, ha ha ha.
So my partner and two chums are still being successful with their weight loss as well and I'm so proud of them! One has reduced to below her lowest weight at TOPS, and that was over a four year span. She never truly was in the right head space then but using the WW ap now, she's doing fabulous. Our big motivation is our photos with Sam & Dean in October, to look better than we did back in 2018 when we last did their convention. This is a huge deal for her especially, she's been a fan of the Supernatural show since their 2005 debut and this is their final season. She's lent me the first 13 seasons so I can re-watch it all again. I am trying to make this something I earn by exercising while watching it, rather than watching it from the couch, it's definitely a work in progress. I'm pinning strength training exercises I can do in my living room and hope to start utilizing them. So far I'm not meeting my exercise goals I created for this month but I am doing more than I was in December. So that's a win.
I have to remember I'm in the second month of a new weight loss journey. All the changes will not happen instantly and I will have to relearn how I'm spending what free time I have. But I believe I can do this and be at goal by October. Just got to keep on keeping on, right?
