Home Gym Update

Back in 2012 I had posted a blog about an exercise routine I was doing. At the end I showed pictures of the home gym we had. The cable and bucket system has been updated a little and we've added a new cable area too.
The new cable can be used from above to pull downwards or from the pulley on the floor to pull upwards. We can add or take off weight depending on what we're working on. I also have an ankle strap I can use with it for leg exercises. My husband said I could paint the walls whatever color I wanted. Purple is my favorite color so that is what I went with. I added the mirror, motivational pictures and some printouts with exercises. I just used nails to hang everything on and painted them a coral so they will stand out. I can't do all of the exercises I printed out, but I'll get there.
I'm thinking about trying to figure out how to do leg presses with the new system too. I have an idea, now I just need to find the materials needed.
My husband built this weight bench. We had an old mattress that we cut off from to make the padding and covered it. I painted his wall area black, painted the outlet covers red and hung up the pictures. He thought I was only painting the walls to make them look better so he was surprised when he saw the rest. There was on old calendar from a protein shake company that had the girl pictures. I cut out the calendar area and saved the pictures I thought he and my sons might like.
The old weight bench that was replaced with what my husband made was really wide and really tall. He made a platform to put under it so we could touch when doing bench presses. With the new bench the platform wasn't needed anymore. I wanted a step for step aerobics and my husband cut it down for me. Of course it had to be purple too. LOL
Our poor pool table. We haven't played pool in a long time and it gets used as extra workspace or a catch all for everything. We cleaned most of it off so we have a space to set weights on. I used an old dish rack to hold some of the smaller plates. Most of our weights need to be replaced and that is the next step... to replace them a few at a time. My husband and son use 20 pound dumbbells so we need to see if it is more cost effective to purchase four 10 pound weights or just two 20 pound dumbbells. We couldn't remember how much the different bars weighed so the other day he weighed them all. We also increased the buckets to 45 pounds from 35 pounds.
