6/12/2020 Where I’m At Today, Six months since my diabetic doctor visit.
Friday, June 12, 2020
Today is a Beautiful Day. Today is the 6 month "anniversary" since my last Diabetic doctor appointment. This is the first 6-month appointment I've had, the rest were 3 month and 1-4 month appointments since being in the hospital
I am pleased with my blood sugar readings. My glucose in the hospital was 810 now it averages 83-88 a week. My A1C went from 5.3% at the last check-up to 5.7%, which is still normal. I believe it is because I am eating fruit three times a day for energy.
I have picked up my cardio walking/jogging/running in May doing 664988 steps, which is equal to 316.6 miles for me according to my Fitbit. This allowed me to lose 8 pounds since my visit six months ago. She told me that all her other patients have gained since the lockdown.
My heart is 120/80 and my Resting Heart Rate has averaged 45-48.
My cholesterol was unbelievable. In the hospital my total cholesterol was 240 and they wanted it below 200. My total cholesterol is now 96, my HDL is 72 and LDL is below 40.
She is still stunned by my progress. Medicare officially said I am no longer a diabetic, even though I know I will always be one.
The doctor still wants to see me in six months which would put my next appointment in December 2020, if that one still shows the same results she will will then put me on annual visits. I was a little disappointed, but I can live with that.
I need to stay dedicated to the program because I know I could backslide at any time.
Thank-you for all the feedback and support from everyone that got me to this point.
