Well, I decided I had one too many groups and the stress group was one I was not keeping up with. So I got rid of it but now I have to work on those papers. But now I am worried that my water bill will go up and keep me from being able to pay for insurance. The neighbor told jenny that there was a big bruhaha over it and the people said no they are not going to pay more for their water. The paper mill wanted to team up with the city for a water replacement plant and they said no. And the mayor told the paper mill not to even try raising the bills sky high if they have to do it themselves. Cause that would raise up the water bills even higher and force people out. The school is trying once again to get the taxpayers to agree to foot the bill for bug a new one or fix and improving other areas, I cannot afford that either on my low income.

I went to Greenbay yesterday on the senior bus. We went to Target, Kohls, Bay Park Square, Pizza Palace to eat, and Woodmans. The ride was nice but the walking around did me in, I was in a lot of pain later. There is no place to sit down in Target or Kohls and even before I hit the mall my right leg was feeling it. Did not find much in Target at all and Kohls the line was too long so I gave up there.

Tuesday I got so mad I left my cart of stuff in Walmart. There was no checkout I could go to for my checks at all and I do not think I can use a check in the self-check-out lines. Woodmans has stopped allowing checks as well.

P.S. I still have not gotten my stimulus check either and another lady on the bus yesterday was kind enough to give me a little money so I could pay for my lunch. I did not have quite enough. It was 10.80 and I only had 10; the co-captain thought it was 12. I only had change left in my wallet.

Hi Laura, it has been some time since I connected with you - I am so sorry you are having such trouble - the cain that someone here mentions sounds like it would be good. I have a walker that I take when I have to go out to grocery stores or places like Walmart - I can at any time sit - and truthfully I use it more because I need to sit often - though I don't like the nuisance of having it otherwise but it does come handy.

Hope to connect with you again emoticon

You need one of those awesome sit down canes. It has a seat that folds out and three legs to support it. When you’re not using the seat, it folds back to a regular cane. I don’t need a cane, but I do need a place to sit down. I guess the stores prefer that you stay on your feet and shop. I took my folding cane when waiting in line for the covid vaccine and got raves from other people who wished they had one. The second time, I loaned it to an older lady who really needed to sit. She said, “My husband is going to order one of these as soon as I get home.”

have you thought about finding a room mate? I'm sure a lot of other seniors are having same issues, sharing expenses would help you both by cutting those bills in half..... sometimes senior centers have resources like these. I'd ask around, there is no shame in asking for some help. Good luck to you
