Week 477 ... MB 261...

Morning Sparkies,

Now before I start to tell you about this week ... I am ok ... the following will be a bit of a shock :)

On Wednesday, Hubby took me to Spotlight a store that has wool, he was looking for felt for his phonograph. He purchased some wool for me :)

When we got home we were busy and I didn't have lunch, I thought I will just have some salad when I do Beauty's veges. I hadn't had a drink either.

I went to the bathroom and felt dizzy and sweaty ... I came out and sat in my chair and took some GTN spray. Hubby was trying to do the dinner for me and instead of waiting the ten minutes I got up to help !

Second mistake ... I said " I need to sit down " and collapsed.... I fell and banged my head on the concrete floor.

I woke up and said " my head hurts". I could talk and asked hubby to call DD and check if I could get up or needed to go to hospital.

She and her hubby asked questions and said I could get up. Hubby... my Mister WonderPhil pulled a heavy chair into the kitchen and slowly sat me up and checked my eyes etc and then helped me into the chair.

It was cold on the floor and he got me a blanket.

I had fallen on my back, I had a lump on my head.

I was thanking God that nothing was broken and I was Ok :) Wow :)

DD sent him some notes on what to watch out for in the coming days, he followed me everywhere and helped with all my needs :). He had hurt himself getting the huge chair too :)

I was very careful over the next few days ... Hubby following me with a light and checking my eyes etc. The lump has gone down now. The only soreness now is if I lay down, I can feel my back and head :)

Amazing !!!

So I have done a lot of sitting this week and still am taking it easy and being checked as DS says you can still collapse after two weeks .

So what do I do when I sit down ?

Phoenix kept me company

Finished my crocheting

Hubby bought me a loom it is round , so I am making a cowl

Back of work, front of work and hook used :)

I even had a weight loss :)

I am privileged to have such a loving family, I am taking it easy and keeping watch for any of DD's symptoms. I couldn't have been better looked after :)

Happy Easter to all

He is Risen

Hugs Christine

What a scare!! I’m happy that your hubby and DD have been able to help you in your recovery. Hopeful that you find out what happened to make you fall. I also read your “current status” that you have shingles! Oh boy, that’s all you need on top of everything that’s going on. Take it easy. I hope you aren’t suffering too much from the shingles.

You have done so much nice needlework. What talent! emoticon

Did you go to the Dr.and is that when you found out you have shingles? Maybe that caused your episode.
    Glad your fall wasn't worse.
Beautiful work on the yarn projects.

OH my. I am glad you're all right, but I would first think of dehydration and low blood sugar, too. Glad you're ok and doing what you're supposed to do.

Those wool colors are absolutely gorgeous!

    Take good care, my dear!

    Happy Easter. emoticon

Thank you for that first reassuring sentence.
That was one scary episode. Your beautiful knitting in spite of it all shows your indomitable spirit.
Hope your procedure can be moved up.

Lucky you that you only got a bad bump!

Hydration is so important and so is listening to your body ( not your mind that tells you to help someone else!).
Your projects have prompted me to start working on my own again. I've two right next to my chair I let go to play on my computer!

So concerned to hear about your fall . . . and I hope you continue to take it "easy" -- although your productivity with that wool is pretty amazing for a person "resting"!!

You have a loving loving family . . . your dear husband and dear daughter know how very special you are.

That cowl looks like a sunset of colours, so very lovely. And a round loom technique new to you, instantly mastered!!

You had mentioned to me an alpaca farm in northern PEI and yes: I saw it last Wednesday (the day of your fall) when we drove "up island"!! It's not open for visitors but the alpacas did not know that, and there they were all fluffy and tall looking out at us as we slowly slowly drove by!! Of course I was thinking fondly of you . . . on the other side of the world.

First off, I am glad that you apparently didn't really hurt yourself. But, I hope you learned your lesson about "overdoing it" and not following medicinal directions!!

I assume Phil is checking you for nausea, headaches and dizziness (signs of a concussion) and checking your eyes to make sure your pupils react equally to light (P.E.R.L.), as unequal reactions could be a sign of brain trauma.

Congrats on the kilo loss for the week, but continue to take it easy. As someone that has had multiple concussions I can tell you that they aren't a load of fun!! Of course if your head hitting the ground "put you to sleep" for even a short time, you received a concussion so you know how much fun they are.

No food and no liquids then you got dizzy and sweaty? Sounds like your blood sugar bottomed out. Could also be blood pressure dropping (especially if you were mildly dehydrated), but I don't recall low blood pressure causing sweats. Either way, I know you're going to take notes of what happened and present it to whichever Dr. you see next.

Take it easy, enjoy some knitting with your downtime (as you already are doing). No more falling down!!

Now it's your Hubby's turn to follow you around. Keep calm, let him do most of the work. You're so lucky. I fell on my back and back of my head ice skating when I was in high school. I had a slight memory loss, not bad, but must have rattled some rocks around lol. Love, love, love the red, and such good work. How nice to get a loom. Yes, he is a keeper! emoticon
