How do I want to go through the next phase life?

Tuesday, April 13, 2021

MEADSBAY made me laugh with her gondolier photo on her feed:

I thought a bit deeper. Of course, I have my own photos from iconic places...

Visiting Central Park, what they viewed.

What I viewed

Alaska; my fam watched behind their eyelids

While right in front of them was...

I want more of this, my cousin and me just before lockdown

Before I end up like this

Working on it...again.

Definitely with my eyes wide open. And hopefully able to travel again.

Great photos; I don't understand the "selfie compulsion" - I'd rather review my photos of beautiful scenery!

    Very funny, and too true!

OH I do want to have hope in the post pandemic life. I am doing my part. And for sure, getting out and actually SEEING what's around us is uplifting. That's nature!

LOVE the 'contrasting views'! Great pictures.

I will believe in a next life phase when I see it. LOL. Nothing seems to change for me. Work, work, work, doctor, doctor, doctor, pharmacy, pharmacy, pharmacy, risk death to get groceries/supplies, risk death to get groceries/supplies, risk death to get groceries/supplies. I do enjoy what I can - like trees in bloom, a nice day, a baby goat. But I'm distracted all the while with little snippets of bad news creeping in. Vaccine problems, blood clots, yearly booster vaccines, down to 90% effectiveness of vaccines, difficulty getting herd immunity. And we don't even have access to T.V!!!! We may as well start tying to create babies already wearing masks. I'm a hopeful person, an optimist, but the hourglass is draining.

I remember that cruise photo from the first time around, and it made me smile all over again.

I laugh every time I see that pic!
I love to take pix but really focus on what is going on.
We had another big laugh watching a young lady near the spectacular Blue Mosque in Istanbul with her back to the mosque while she posed for selfies, over and over again, trying different angles and rearranging her hair.

Reminds me of the years I hosted Japanese girls for 3 weeks several summers. The minute we got in the car to "see something," they had their eyes closed & napping. Great reminder...enjoy today...I'm not a picture taker mainly because I don't want to come home to a pile of photos that I must do something with.

Yes... a blessing and a curse. One of the reasons I'm not a photographer is that I never got beyond the point where I missed experiencing the event / scene I'm trying to photograph! There's an old family joke about vacations, piling out of the car, dad taking all kinds of photos... and piling back into the car... "you can see it when we get home!" (Not really true, but some ring of truth to it.)

Here's to living where we are! emoticon emoticon

Great reminder, great contrasting photos. emoticon

There was an old song "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think"

It ended with "how far can you travel when you're 6 feet under ground"

May we travel again soon. Looks more hopeful than it did a year ago.
