Testimony: Testament: Witness: There Is No Time To Serve the World and GOD.

Today the word "testimony" came to my mind. These common words we Christians use always grab my attention. I desire to understand words from their Scriptural perspective, how it is written. When that happens, I go to my Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary, 1976 edition. I always discover so much more than what I expect. This dictionary was a 10-year wedding anniversary present from my husband. I seemed to always have had an interest in word definitions. I received that gift in 1981, four years before I was born again. It has become an invaluable study tool.
As I was searching the dictionary, the definition of testament captivated my attention:
“testament – noun. LL testamentum, covenant with God, holy scripture, fr. L, last will; testari:to be a witness, call to witness, make a will, fr. testis witness: akin to L tres three witness & L stare to stand; fr. the witness’s standing by as a third party in a litigation – more at THREE STAND. 1. archaic: a covenant between God and man. 3. an act by which a person determines the disposition of his property after his death. b. will.”
Is that not amazing that a common Webster’s dictionary offers so much insight into the Truth?! “…testament – noun. LL testamentum, covenant with God, holy scripture… the witness’s standing by as a third party in a litigation – more at THREE STAND” !
“And it is the Spirit that beareth witness because the Spirit is truth. For there are THREE that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these THREE are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one" 1 John 5:6-8).
“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without the shedding of blood is no remission.” (Hebrews 9:14, 16-17, 22)
WOW! JESUS, without spot! The last will and testament of Christ declares its strength, power, and authority of every believer’s inheritance both now and eternally. It is a “signed” contract between God and mankind.
Believers in the Son of God—by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony—overcome the world, death and hell, and Satan, the great dragon, the Devil that deceives the whole world (Revelation12: 9, 11).
We all know we live in 2Timothy 3:1-7 times. Today is the day to get ready, to focus on what matters, to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. The Lamb’s wife has made herself ready. Take courage, Jesus has overcome this world!
"If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.” 1 John 5:9
It is written, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” (Revelation 21:7)
The life I live, I live by faith in the Son of God. This is my testimony. (Isaiah 40:31) "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD." Psalm 118:17
