June 14-The Heat is On

Tuesday, June 15, 2021

Today was a precursor of temps to come..gasp! There was no breeze and temps soared on up to the high 90's with no regard for those panting miserable beings roasting under the sun!
Even Molly who usually loves mornings on her deck surveying her world was like..Let me in Mum it is way too hot out here! Those folks that were around before A/C were tougher birds than I am thas for sure!!
Sara's hair is now florescent green..I swear I think she would glow in the dark. Of course she loves it!! Since she wanted permanment color it had to be bleached. Jasmine is very careful and watches for over processing . I will say it looks nice and is in good condition at least for now.
A Miller Moth invaded the girls room last night and we were all serenaded to the screams of a banchee at 1 AM!! Sara is very bug phobic and let the world know there was a moth..one moth, in her room. The price for waking all of us, even the dogs were barking!! Was a through lecture from Papa Bear who got up like a grizzly in Spring and Mama Bear who just followed up after he got done. I will give the girls credit for trying to not wake us..but peppermint spray won't get a moth unless you soak them with it. Tonight they are spending the night with friends because our house is the only house in the world that has Miller Moths..do ya believe that? Also the place they went has no A/C...ahhh too bad so sad!! It may boil down to a miller now and then or sitting around sweating in the heat.
The chickens and the geese spent most of the day under the big shade trees out in their yard. Even the pool was not that inviting. Once the sun began to set the group were browsing thru the weeds and scaring up tasty treats to enjoy before bedtime.
Got chores done..water tanks freshened , pulled a few weeds and called it good! Not a heat loving gal ..nope not me!
I am glad I got the Littles trimmed last week. Chuee's coat is so thick he would be melting like the Witch in The Wizard of Oz.
More of this coming..so excited...NOT! On a serious note I do fear it will be a bad fire year. We have not had enough rain at the right times to keep the fire danger low. This climate change business is tough and we are going to have to adjust.
A cool shower is sounding like a great idea right now..ya'al have a good night and good rest!

Gosh, I hate hot temps. The girls are going to spend the night without the moth because the moth won't stand such high temps! emoticon I'll take several Miller moths but not the high temps! So good the hair coloring is perfect! I hope your entire area and much more do not get wildfires.

LOL Maybe its the name of Sarah? My GD (Also Sarah) as a teen sees a bug and the DANCE WAS ON!!! Like the girls if it was 1 or 4AM the MORE DRAMATIC it was. Of course I used to laugh, I knew it was something she hated, and thankfully between Princess and Izzy that wasn't usually an issue. Awww now the house is so quiet, I at times miss that, though I've also adjusted.

UGH Katie Doo,,,, in the high 90's?????? NOOOO TY TY TY!! I sure hope the fires won't be bad, but I fear they will be. Hopefully you don't have much vegetation that can burn around the house. It's so hard because we NEED SHADE and plants, and yet. SIGH
