Hahn's Peak Lake Sunset - 6-18-21

Cyndi Marlowe was in the northern part of the county to snap this photo of the sunset over Hahn's Peak Lake (where our boys caught their first fish as youngsters!):
We replaced one of our hummingbird feeders, believing it had been damaged by high winds we had recently. Yesterday we realized our brand new feeder was damaged. As DH retrieved the broken pieces from below the deck, I examined the area for clues. There in the dust and sugar water on the corner of the deck were tell-tale paw prints. Raccoons! They must be climbing up onto the railing and leaping onto the feeder, which eventually gives way under the strain (even a small raccoon weighs 10+ pounds). Luckily our other feeder is just far enough away from the railing to prevent a leap, and there's nothing else close by they can use to access it.
It's a problem we've NEVER had in the nearly 30 years we've lived here. Looks like we'll be down to one feeder for the remainder of the hummingbird season!
