Ugh, today my weight is way up - 2.5 pounds up over the last time I weighed myself, two days ago. I think that some of that loss I had last week must have been water weight and I'm not really where I thought I was. SO discouraging!

You've probably been making progress in other areas that the scale doesn't accurately reflect. Muscle weighs much more than fat, so as you build that up, the scale may say you're gaining even when you're really losing. I try not to weigh myself officially more than once a week. It's hard though. Sometimes I'll take a peek in the mornings just to see where I'm at, but I won't let myself really put down any progress until my official WI day arrives. This past week was rough with my TOM being here. I felt I'd lost more than the scale showed, but I know I usually retain extra water around that time, so I tried not to let it bother me. You can do this. Just keep up with the healthy choices and I know you'll make it!

if slight fluctuations like 2 lbs make you crazy, you may be one of those people who should only weigh once a week or every two weeks. it's absolutely normal to fluctuate up to 5 lbs within a given day or between two days, just based on water content, indeed. keep an eye on your sodium intake and see if there's a pattern with a higher weigh-in when you've been eating too much salt... i know there definitely is for me! just stick with it though-- the scale isn't the most important thing. you're eating healthier, right? that will make a huge difference. be patient! good luck.
