Phew! It really doesn't take much!

Thursday, January 24, 2008

If you read yesterday's blog post, you know I overdid it the previous couple of days, ballooning from 207 to 211 in just 3 days.

Yesterday, I measured every single thing that went into my mouth ... amazing how much I'd been underestimating by eyeballing. :) And I rediscovered what I already knew: I'd been eating too much. Waaaaaay too much. :)

Yesterday, I did my usual workout and stayed within my allocated calorie range. Drank the usual amount of water. Got enough sleep (just 5 hours, but I'd slept 10 the previous night, so it evens out - I'm feeling bright and alive today).

Woke up early and went to the gym in my building (there were only 2 others there) ... weighed in - I'm down to 209! Yay! So I guess it's obvious it can be done if I just face the reality that I eat too much if I'm eating without being fully in the moment.

My Forex coach, Jordan, keeps telling me about "Satori" which is apparently Japanese for being in the moment - I think I'll print out that word in 12-inch lettering and stick it all over the place as a reminder to be aware in everything I do, not just eating.

Today is going to be a great day - I have everything going for me if I am just willing to face the day with a smile (which I AM - I'm pretty much a super-positive person 99% of the time). I just need to focus on all the wonderful opportunities I have and all the great people in my life and the fabulous, fantastic times we're living in.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Congrats on getting the weight back down! I like your idea to use the "satori" thing. I have a picture of me at my highest weight on my fridge. So everytime I go to grab some chocolate cake or some frozen pizza... it makes me realize that I don't need it and I feel much better being healthy. Good luck!
