First day of 8-k training program !!

I find this whole blogging thing kind of creepy but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm not very good at putting my thoughts into writing so please forgive me if I ramble on about things :)
Today I am starting an 8 week 8-k training program. Today was actually pretty easy, it consisted of stretching & strength training which is actually my normal Monday morning thing to do. Tomorrow is a 2 mile run this will actually be a little challenging seeing I haven't run more than 1.5 miles since last August. Can't wait!!
Even though this program goes for 8 weeks I am planning on doing a 5mile race the beginning of March so I am going to have to adjust the program I am using and step things up a bit.
This is how week 1 is going to go:
Mon ~ streching & strength training
Tues ~ run 2 miles
Wed. ~ 30 minutes cross training & Strength training
Thurs ~2 mile run
Fri. ~ 30 minutes cross training & strength training
Sat. ~ 2 mile run
Sun. ~ rest
I'm leaving the program pretty much the way it is written for week 1 except for the strength training days, I want to keep them the same as they have been.
