emoticon Hi and emoticon to the team. It is a fact that the more you interact with the team, the better you will do, so stay in touch and let the team encourage and support your efforts. Make good use of the nutrition and fitness trackers as they are invaluable tools to help us reach our goals. As for the desk job, you will need to be a little "sneaky" to fit in your exercise. Use the stairs instead of the elevator to reach your office, park further away to get in a little walking, use bathroom breaks to do a few strength training exercises (wall push-ups, calf raises, hip flexors, etc.), talk a walk on your lunch hour. Exercise does not need to be done in half hour or hour increments. Five or ten minutes at a time done several times a day is just as beneficial. emoticon

Welcome
I see like me you are a fully paid up member of the excuses brigade.
Your job has made you fat indeed.
Just like my job made me visit the vending machine 3 times in as many hours today for another chocolate bar. Yes work is hell at the moment and I am comfort eating but no-one stood behind me with a gun and forced me to put money in the machine or eat the bars once bought.
I start afresh tomorrow. Join me and cancel the above membership

I send you a big welcome too. Can I just say it's all about choices? I know ... I was in a job where I sat all day. I let it take priority. I didn't take care of myself. I made the choice to not get up and move around and I stayed late to get stuff done. When I got home I was too tired to exercise. In the end, all I had done/given was not appreciated at all by the boss; he just wanted more and more, and I ended up quitting. It's still all about choices. Now I'm home all day with the kitchen just a stone's throw away, and it's way too easy to snack. emoticon Let's take care of our self and do what WE need to do to get this weight/inches off. No one else can make those choices for us ... it's up to us!

emoticon I'm at a desk all day as well. I get up a bit earlier in the morning so I can walk and do a short workout from Fit, Firm and Fired Up! And if you drink lots of water throughout the day, you should have an excuse for frequent bathroom breaks. Choose the bathroom farthest away or just walk a bit each time you get up. And go for a walk at lunch time. It all adds up!

emoticon I had a desk job, some things I did was stood up and did things like cafe raises when I talked on the phone, kept 2 pound weights by my desk and pumped iron sometimes instead. Took the long way around to the bathroom. In my case I worked on the 6th floor and used the bathroom on the 2ed floor. As for snacks, I kept soy nuts in my desk to nibble on when I just had nibble. I kept a 64 oz jug of water at my desk and sipped on it. One I got my water and two I needed the bathroom often. I know all these things might not work for you, but hope it gets your brain working.

Hello everyone! I am hoping this is the beginning of getting healthy. I sit behind a desk ALL DAY, so needless to say "little activity" translates into added weight. This is the heaviest I have been my whole life. I didn't even weigh this much when I was pregnant with my kids. Now here I am tipping the scales at 171. My goal is to lose 35 lbs. I would like to buy some new clothes or even fit into the ones I bought earlier that were to be an incentive...so much for that.

I have come to this web site a number of times, but just can't seem to get the ball rolling. I'll log in for a few days...then I get busy with work and other things and I drift away, add on a few more pounds and come back again. I am pathetic...I really need to get busy and stick to it.

I thought this would be a good time to join a team and get some encouragement to stay with it, so here I am!
