One of the things for us to remember is that this is our time to get healthy. No matter what got us here or what our circumstances. One of the principles of Spark is that we can do whatever we set our minds to doing.

Hi everyone, I'm Sue, I too will be 55 in September. I know where I gained the last 30lbs. Trying to keep my husband from doing to much after his surgery 8 years ago. It has never left me. I want to get down to 139 so my joints don't hurt and I can stay healthy for my middle age. My biggest obstacle is myself. I have gotten quite lazy with my free time. As we get bigger we seem to go out and get bigger tv's as well. I know that if I keep giving myself pep talks, it will all click in one day. I hope it is soon. I will try to come and read and participate on this team when I have the time.

You are all still children and have a lot of life ahead. I will be turning 68 in July and I would like to be where I am or maybe 2 to 3 pounds down for the summer. I just want to be healthy and able to work in my garden, flowers and yard. Love life, live it with all you have, don't waste any of it. Be content with yourself always. Love Spark people and pass on knowledge.

I am a very easy going gal that loves people and wants to know as many as I can. I want to make new friends so I can enjoy more of life. When people get to 55 or 60 there are some that think life should be over but guess what it is just beginning. Maybe 50 years ago it was over but not now people are living longer and working in their 70's. I would have been if I didn't have leukemia and it does not stop me but I have good days and bad, so being home if I need rest, I rest, at work I couldn't do

Welcome (I know I'm a little late) but anyway, welcome. Hope you have had a great first week.
Tinylibra, I will be turning 55 in September. I am hoping to be at my goal weight before my big day too.
We can do it if we try...and stay focused.

Thank you all for the welcome messages! This is a BIG help for me to get motivated. Today is my first day. I procrastinated a little bit in the morning but got to my cardio and did my 30 min., 255 cal., 80 fat cal., and IT FEEL GREAT!
Now i have to work on the food part.
ONE DAY AT A TIME!

Hi everyone! My name is Lizca and I joined Spark a while ago but have not done anything with it until today. Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I NEED to loose this weight. 50lbs. by 11/23/2011 (my 55th B-day) I know I can do it if I stop procrastinating and manage my time. I love the way everyone help each other in this site ao I am ready to start with your help and at the same time hopefully I can help others. I am an ex-model of bathingsuits that now weights 180lbs. UGH! I feel 20, ride a Harley and love life so if I want to be around I will do this.
