when I do oatmeal, I often drop an egg into the pan of cooked oatmeal, dried fruit--apricots is good(sometimes I add walnut pieces), cinnamon, and the milk...turns out very creamy and good. Almost like a custard.

I almost always have 1/3 cup of oatmeal with 3 dried apricots diced up and cooked in it, with a cup of milk.
Last week the dietician told me to add an egg and half a serving of whole grain bread--that's a lot of food for me in the morning.

Non-traditional breakfast all the way! BLT (with turkey bacon) on whole wheat, or soup are some of my faves!

I usually have oatmeal or cereal in the morning. Making the one minute quaker oats really relaxes me as I start my morning routine. Don't forget to add some cinnamon at the end this help lower your blood sugar

I usually have 1 cup of bran flakes, 1/2 of a small banana with just 1/3 cup of 1% milk. Sometimes I have Kellogg's rice krispies instead of bran flakes. In the winter I have either oatmeal or cream of wheat.

I suspect that for most people breakfast is the hardest meal to cut back carbs on... traditional breakfast foods are all so high in them! LOL

Why not break tradition?

Any of your low-carb favorites would make a fine meal any time of day! On cold mornings, one of my favorite things is a bowl of nice hot soup for breakfast. Good nutrition AND comfort food! LOL

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But I don't think you have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too!

Make a breakfast burrito with egg beaters, turkey bacon, low fat cheese,a Toufayan low-carb wrap, and reduced sugar ketchup. Follow the package direction for cooking the egg beaters, (1/2 c), and the turkey bacon, (I buy pre-cooked turkey bacon pieces). Warm the wrap, place rest of ingredients in center, and fold like a burrito. enjoy

I get really tired of eggs or egg whites and turkey sausage. Eating something sweet in the morning makes me nauseated. Anyone have any suggestions for different breakfasts that are lower carb?
