As much as I was afraid to go walk the trail because of snakes, I went to walked it for the first time this year and thankfully did not see any snakes! I enjoyed my walk! It was a great stress reliever!

After reading all these things about snakes. I'm thinking need to carry something along with me, such as a walking stick. Hopefully, the snakes go hide off the trails. There are not my friends either.

Hope you are having a fabulous day.

I love walking outside. Its helps relieve stress and really helps with my anxiety. I live out in the country, and the road I live in, people fly on, and there is a few hills so its pretty dangerous at times. There is a couple other roads that are better, but I have to walk at least a half mile to mile just to get to them. We also have a bike trail, that people walk on all the time. But last year there were some attacks on some near by trail, and although not on the specific trail I walk on, its still scary. They did catch the 2 individuals responsible for last years, but its still scary. And then there is my huge fear of snakes. I was ok, until I started seeing a lot of them last year. I think I seen 5 snakes in 1 day on the trail! They were just garter and black snakes, so all harmless, but I don't care what kind of snake it is, Im scared of them all!

I do not like snakes either. I'm sure how to conquer that and still get the benefits of being outdoors walking. Until you mentioned it, I hadn't thought of it.

I wish people would just behave themselves. The city parks are they for everyone to enjoy. There are times when I'm in town dealing with meetings, etc. I like to walk the city parks. Trails along the white waters. Yes, you become very alert around you, as who might be coming up from behind. Or even if some character wants to prevent you from going forward. I'm not sure what the city's plan is this year. I noticed some deputies on bikes patrolling the park areas to make sure you are feeling safer walking.

I live out in the country. My alarm is making sure I'm safe walking along the county roads. There are many drivers who think its a NASCAR speedway. I need to walk about 1/2 mile to get to the dirt road, with the trees on both sides.

I need to start walking outside more. I live in the city though so I have to drive somewhere to be near the trees and into real nature stuff. I love walking in the wood but in my city the woods are few and far between. Also it is scary because someone could come up to you in the woods and hurt you.

This was in today's email from FlatKevin at Yes.Fit.

Inspire and Be Inspired

*Try something new. Incorporating a different exercise adds a whole new perspective on physical fitness. If youíre a runner and trying yoga may increase flexibility and reduce injuries.

*Add spice to your playlist. When was the last time you changed your workout songs? Jazz it up a little and see if you donít have more spring at step class.

*Invite new faces. The more the merrier, and we all need the motivation some days.

*Find some inspiration. Whether itís the feeling of the sweat on your face or the satisfaction of making that hill, find the reason to feel better and keep going.

*Dance, Dance, Dance. Put some tunes on and Have a dance party.

LEIGHSDRAGON2 - a park works too. Sometimes I just walk barefoot in the backyard to get outside and some Earthing. I want to check out the state park about 30 minutes from us.They use to have a nice walking trail, but I don't know if it is still there.

GHOULISHMORTAL - I'm working on the Irish Countryside at the moment. Do you belong to the Yes.Fit group on Facebook? There's also a team on here. It's the "Yes.Fit (unofficial)" team/

I do notice that when I go for walks outside that I can clear my head and things are relaxing. I like enjoying nature. I just have to find some woods to hike in since there are not any near me. I usually go to a park to walk their trails.

I belong to Yes.Fit and do virtual races. We receive emails from FlatKevin. This was in today's email from FlatKevin. I think it is good to remember so I'm sharing it here...

emoticon 5 Benefits of Walking in Nature emoticon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. It can make your brain work better. Walking through a forest or green area with trees has been found to aid memory and learning.
2 . A forest walk can help lower blood pressure. It's relaxing and reduces stress.
3. If you want to challenge your self take a Nature hike.
4. Restored mental energy. You know that feeling where your brain seems to be sputtering to a halt? One thing that can help get your mind back into gear is exposing it to restorative environment, like in nature.
5. Take your pets and kids, taking a nature walk inspires curiosity and imagination.
