i started at 195 and once i finally broke that plateau, the weight is finally starting to come off. those plateaus really make me mad!!!

I started this challenge at 202 and now at 195. My starting weight was at 226. So, I have reached the 25lb loss and now at 31lb loss. Another 18lb to go.

Carolyn, I am starting to hit a plateau as well. I had to incorporate some more carbs to feel better. But, at least the scale isnt' moving upward! :)

Still no movement on the scale. I lose a few during the week, but my weekends are completely out of control and I gain it back.

I am going to sit down this afternoon and come up with a better weekend plan. I have to get it right.

My first post and although I have been a member for a couple of months, my first real use of sparkpeople. I am looking forward to it. I have yoyo'd most of my adult life. This is the end of the yoyo! I am 185 today. The goal is 150 by April of 2011. But short term I would like to be 175 by September 30. emoticon

Way to go radiationmama!!!! I just weighed myself and saw the scale was 4lbs less!! My grandma passed away this Friday and I'm finding out that I am NOT and emotional eater. Yiiiippppeeeee! Kind of hard to eat and cry at the same time anyway. Even my mom noticed that my skin looks better since I've been exercising. Keep up the good work everyone!!

This is my first post! I am 42 and had just hit 168.5 lbs (BMI=28.9). Needless to say, I wasn't liking my image in the mirror. So I started a lifestyle journey, my first one ever. I have never tried to get healthy before. I have never dieted at all. But, I believed a lifestyle change was essential and I believe in myself. I am self confident. I know I can do this.

I started watching what I eat and exercising on my exercise bike (we have had it for three years and it had never been used). And today, I finally hit my 20 lb weight loss success. I want to celebrate. Meeting you folks and Sparkpeople has been instrumental in my journey. I have 3.5 lbs to go to hit the top of my BMI. I am aiming for a total 48 lb weight loss (by Christmas?). This will place me at the middle of my BMI (a place I haven't seen in 8 years). Thanks everyone.

April 30th, 2010 168.5 lbs. Today 148.5 lbs.

just got back from 8 days in Vegas, with miles upon miles of walking..but against drinking and who knows what, I have managed to gain 5 lbs. I think my cycle is causing it, or hydration issues...hopefully. :( see you next week.

After a 1 month plateau, I finally lost a pound!! Yeah!!

Well, after my 1st week with SP I have lost 1 lb.! Not a big success I know, but it IS a success! I am learning how to watch, choose, and keep track of what I eat. I have drank more water this week than I can remember and was faithful to the exercise! I have more energy as a whole, and have less pain in muscles and joints, so I know this SP works if I work it!!

Still no weight loss. Frustrating but understandable. I was sick all last week with a nasty cold so I got a little off track.

195.3 - UGH starting weight was the heaviest I have been since I had the boys 11 years ago. This has got to change. 4lbs gone already

I lost a pound. I tried zumba one day this last week, and did a little extra exercising another day or so and I think that helped.

Everyone is different. I am obessed with the Wii Fit and weigh in every day. When the scale doesn't move or goes up, and I know I am working out. I will do measurements instead, this way it doesn't get me frustrated. I try to log my weight on Saturdays. Sorry... long answer.

Thats excellent. The short term goals will take you straight to your long term ones. I lost another 1/2 lb yesterday myself. yes I know I shouldn't weigh daily but it is fun to see some movement. Baby steps!!
