Patty, Prayers for Mel. What a difference from hot days to cold, stormy days! I'm glad you are home safe and sound and hopefully Mel will rest well.

Nina, Prayers for the fire situation in your area.

Hi girls

A little scary excitement today. Son called and said there was a fire 2 miles from them on the ridge. So Roy left in a hurry with the flat bed trailer so they could get the tractor here. Also other things of importance. Lorraine brought my grand daughter here and also brought some things here for safe keeping. Just before they left they checked and that fire had been contained.
There is another fire 50 miles as the crow flies from us and 35 miles as the crow flies from my sons. We are getting a lot of smoke from this fire. It is in a place called Heber. Prayers these fire are put out. The smoke is really bad. I do not smell it here but you sure can see it in the air. With the house all shut up and only the air conditioner running so far not too bad. Using my daily inhaler and it sure is helping.

Prayer for these fires sure would be appreciated. Also prayer we get our monsoons in July to releave the dryness.

Jan – I love radishes. I do not think we planted any this year. We needed the space for other things. So I just buy them. Hope you can find a good rose bush.

Karen – I bet you had fun visiting with your grand daughter Carissa, as well as getting a hair cut.

Patty – sure hope they can help with all of DH's problems. My brother had diverticulosis really bad off and on for years. He had surgery to take care of it. The fires are worse because we have been so dry for 2 years. We are getting thunder storms in places with lightening and that is most likely what is starting the fires. We have a lot of brush and juniper trees but not many normal size trees. In the pines seems to be the bad areas with fires.

Well, we are home, and hubby went up to lie down.

We may have a problem, we may not. He has diverticulosis, lots of it, and aa hernia in his colon, and a polyp.

Sent the polyp off for biopsy. So, we don't know anything yet. There is some reason he is anemic. We may need to do another procedure, I think from the throat down. We will know more in a few weeks.

Oh my, is it ever cold here today. It wAS 61 THUIS MORNING, AND BY THEW TIME WE LEFT FOR TOWN it was 56, went down to 51. Very windy and stormy.

The stop lights were out and not working at the main intersection in town.

Well, we are home now. He wanted Wendy's so we stopped on the way home.
I am eating my food, not Wendy's.

Nina, wish I could send some of this chilly air over to you and Glenna, maybe Karen too if it's hot there.

I sometimes wake up and am draggin' all day long. Have no idea why. Hopefully tomorrow you will be back to normal.

Are the fires worse lately because you haven't had the monsoons?

Jan, sorry about the rose.
Hoping you can get another kind that isn't so disease prone.

Karen, enjoy your time with DGD. And your nice new haircut.

Glenna.....I love peaches, too. I got a few at a farmers stand last week. It is an honor system. You put your money in a box.

It is not too hot today. Staying in 70’s. I get a hair cut so will get to see my granddaughter Carissa.

Mel got the prep out of way so smooth sailing now.

Good morning girls,

It's a beautiful, warm day here today. I need to water my container plants this morning. I think I'll have some radishes by the end of the week!

I've decided to dig up my Tropicana rose. It's beautiful when healthy but they are very disease prone and this year it's so bad even the rosebuds are effected. Mom and Dad gave us this years ago but I'll make another choice and won't plant it in the same area. Eventually maybe I can add another rose.

My arms are a little sore from the weed eating I did yesterday. Once you get going with that thing you just want to get everything. There is a bit more to do but I'm giving my arms a rest today.

I love peaches & cream. I think Premiere protein shakes has a peaches & cream flavor. I remember Mom slicing peaches and pouring cream and a little sugar over it being SO good. I love fresh peaches or nectarines.

Glenna, Have a good day at your Mom's and I hope you beat the heat!

Patty, I hope all goes well for Mel today. It's always good to get those procedures over with. I imagine more yarny creations will happen while you're waiting. I'm eager to see the pale yellow shawl when it's done.

Nina, Another freezer would be nice. I can't imagine canning on hot days. If you have to buy too many more jars, you could spend enough to buy a freezer. You are a trooper to do that for your family. That's too bad about the smoke. Even without allergies or asthma, it's unpleasant smelling smoke. I saw another wild fire had started near the Warm Springs reservation yesterday.

Hi to Karen.

Stay cool!

Good Morning Ladies

It is a little cooler today so far. It is going to be in the high 90's but not in the 100's. Guess we will see if that happens.
We have a second fire in AZ and so more smoke. These last two years have been really bad with the fires. Today the smoke is not suppose to be bad in our area so we will see about that too.

This morning I have a lot of carrots to peel and slice. Then tomorrow I will can them early. With the heat I cannot can them after 10 am or the house gets just too hot. We needed the room in the green house to plant green beans, so canning carrots here I come. Sometimes I wish I had another freezer so I could just freeze things but freezers are not cheap.

Boy does heat take away everyone's energy. Usually I am up and raring to go, but this morning I just wanted to sit and not move. Maybe this afternoon I can do something fun in the craft room that does not require too much moving around, hee haa.

Well need to get dressed and fix some breakfast. The only meal I have been cooking in heat. Thank goodness for microwaves and outside grills :)

boy does peaches and cream sound good. We have peaches on our trees. But they do not do till around July here. But it sure does sound good right now.

Glenna – sounds like you are getting very hot weather too. We do not have the humidity here so it must be like in the 100's the way it feels. It sure is a busy time of year with planting, weeding, and harvesting. So worth it when eating the things we planted during the winter. Have fun with your mom.

Patty – I just laughed and laughed myself when I read your picture.

Fun vs more fun
Moved very little vs move a lot more
Years before WW were a gradual progression from a good life with many celebrations, ALWAYS with food and chairs vs still with food but the focus is now on the people at event and some form of activity!!! To move more is a priceless benefit to this awesome WW life and that is gradual, also.
On this #motivationmonday believe just how strong we really are. The tools to use for this change are in our hands right now. Track it and see just what kind of awesome day we can really have. When we eat better we do better and that’s a wonderful thing!!! Let’s go do this because we can…we’re ALL getting better just one good decision at a time…
I’ll see you outside 👣

Observed annually on June 21st, National Peaches ‘n’ Cream Day recognizes a sweet way to eat ripened peaches. It’s also a perfect way to begin and end the summer solstice. (See National Daylight Appreciation Day for the meaning of summer solstice.)

Peaches’ n’ Cream is a simple, traditional, and delicious summertime dessert. Of course, the Georgia peach is in season during the month of June, as are those grown in Florida, California, and South Carolina. Make some homemade vanilla ice cream to sweeten the deal, and your peaches’ n’ cream will be all the cooler.

Almost any seasonal fruit goes well with chilled cream, and peaches are no exception. The sweetness of the fruit combines with the silkiness of the cream for a refreshing summer treat. It’s so delicious, we keep coming back for more!

It’s interesting to note that doctors theorize Typhoid Mary may have spread the bacteria through cut up raw peaches in frozen ice cream. So, wash those hands vigorously!

With peaches just coming into season, it’s a good time to keep an eye out for them. Generally speaking, there are two types of peaches – freestone and clingstone. The flesh determines the kind of peach. How the flesh comes away from the stone or the pit in the middle of the peach gives it the name. When the meat comes away freely from the stone, the peach is a freestone peach; if the flesh clings to the peach, it’s a clingstone.

Good morning girls,
Who knew they had a peaches and cream day??? I love peaches. I think I got that from my paternal grandmother. I remember mom saying that grandma never did get a good mess of peaches. I have always loved them. They are one of my favorite canned fruits.

I'm going to moms and do a few things down there. I have a few things to plant yet.

It is supposed to be near 90 today and thunderstorms later in the afternoon. Then rain tonight and tomorrow. We have certainly gotten our share of rain this year.

Here we go on a fresh new week! Let's make it count and make it a good one!!!
Hugs, Glenna
