I have a question. How long do you keep your favorite clothes? I have a tendency to keep my favorite clothes until they are so worn out I can't wear them anymore. I have some clothes that are going on 20 years. I think it is too long and a little embarrassing. They can't possibly be in style. It is just so hard to find something that fits. For example, I don't like normal short shirts. I want the tails to be long enough to cover my rear but be no longer than mid thigh. So, how long do you keep your favorite clothes?

Wow! It's been a quick minute since I've been here on the board! We really had a rough time with the wildfire smoke...For air filtration we took air conditioner filters and zip tied them on our box fans. It was amazing how helpful that was! We just kept re-circulating the air within the house through those. Worked like a charm! For whatever reason, I couldn't sleep last night. I woke up at midnight, and that was it...couldn't fall back to sleep no matter what! I read that screens tend to keep the mind awake, so I grabbed my book instead...still didn't sleep. I'm hoping tonight I can sleep...I'm tired enough right now at my desk at work! I hope you are all doing well! Chat soon! emoticon

Noticed my family & their friends use Costco a lot. In face one of my cousins asks my daughter to get things for her too.

We have a membership as well. We don't use it as much now that the kids are out of the house, but, it is where we get our gas. And the fresh produce is really quality. I also stock my nuts to snack on from there. It's about 1/2 the price then at regular grocery stores. The other things we get there are more random, but TP, papertowels, laundry soap, etc. The things that a person only needs about twice a year. We have found that it is cost effective. Now if I could just walk out of the store without thinking I need to get a slice of pizza from the deli! emoticon

LOL! I did use a an electric clipper and shaved my hair when the hairdresser was shut down. Everybody said it was cute and I didn't need to pay my hairdresser anymore...I advised them not to look to closely at my hair or they would change their mind! emoticon I do have a short pixie...otherwise I would look like my profile picture! I usually go in every 5 weeks. When we were shut down, I was due in two days for my regular hair appointment, so I was a mess...that's when the clippers came out... emoticon

I normally wear heels to work however, now that I'm teleworking, I'm wearing flats and saving wear and tear on my heels. I've also been able to consolidate my high interest fee credit cards an it's been a blessing. With limiting my driving, that's been a big savings.

I'm so excited! I paid off a credit card debt today! We are on a strict budget, and it is finally showing results! It hasn't been easy, but with COVID, and not being able to go out, travel, etc. it seems to make it a little easier to not spend! There is a silver lining to this whole mess!

I know started wearing saris when I was 18 & till 69 nothing else but after breaking my arm used long dresses & that is what I wear most of the time. Wearing saris when I go out or if visitors are coming & its formal.

Thank you so much. I do not fast any more but in place of that give others who fast money so it is easy for them & their families at this time. Unfortunately our shop keepers increase the prices of essential foods in this month. Stay healthy, safe & well.

Think it has made alot of people rethink on what is important in their life and it's not necessarily material things. To appreciate one another, to care and support others in their time of need, along with cutting back on their purchases and getting what they need and not all the extras that a person really doesn't need.

Good point. I do need to get the necessities. I will focus on what I really need and go to the grocery store in the next day or so. It's quite a ta doo to shop now. A person waits in line outside, to go inside and shop, as they are limiting how many people can be in the store for safety measures. I do appreciate their diligence! The governor here just restricted the rules for social distancing again last night. It is so necessary, as some folks just don't see the importance. It was reported that people were gathering together on the beach having bonfires, and playing together, over the weekend. I do wish they would just understand the importance of social distancing. The sooner we figure out and get through it, the sooner we can all go back to what will be our new normal lives. Have a beautiful day, whatever that looks like for you! emoticon

Hi All! I'm currently still working, but not sure from day to day how that will look, or if I will be back the next day or not. But for now, I will take it. I haven't been really shopping for nearly 3 weeks. The cupboards are getting pretty low, but I still think I can make it another week or two, if needed. I really have been saving money, with no grocery shopping! And no restaurants are open, so it's not possible to fill in with that! Silver lining...Sadly, I am in the middle of a move, so I have been packing and moving like crazy for the last week, and two weekends. It has kept me busy. My new place is not ready yet, as it is being remodeled, so many things just got packed and put into storage. I am hoping in the next couple of days to be moved into what the contractors have now said is a "livable", apartment. I'll take it. At this point, I'll be happy to just be in one place and not moving and packing, and moving, etc...ugh...what a mess. Anyway, It's truly nice to have folks to connect with. Thank you all for being here! emoticon

I have to say I'm impressed with seeing more people cook. Doing crafts. keeping busy other than video games or whatever. I guess there's that change and that's good.

I've been meaning to follow the Dave Ramsey idea of eating what you've got in the freezer and cubbards first before you shop. Looks like a good time to start that challenge? LOL

Otherwise, staying home and off of Amazon seems pretty thrifty.

you guys?
