On this Saturday, I'm grateful for:

-A spectacular day: no rain, no wind, sunshine and almost 70; the best day in a few weeks and I tried to soak every bit of it in. Not over yet - deck time tonight!
-The SUPER productive day I've had, mainly because weather permitted
-Getting my new patio stuff out ... installing the umbrella on the table and new cushions
-Got 150 lbs of river rock and two 30-lb bags of sand and pebbles moved to the back
-That the minor injury I had with the dolly is minor, but jacked my glasses up, which can't be fixed until Tuesday (at least they're wearable, but crooked)
-An evening to chill at home with the kitty girls

Cherish the moments,
Stephanie

i am grateful for little surprises...
my in-town son just called me from our driveway to offer us some doughnuts. He stopped at a nearby doughnut shop for doughnuts for work, then missed his usual turn and came down our street out of habit, as if he were dropping his sons off. At that point he figured I'd be up and he might as well offer us some doughnuts.

This lovely cool morning I am grateful for the upcoming respite from temps in the 80's. Except for the light, birdsong, and fresh produce, I could easily bypass summer.
I am grateful that our libraries are open again.
I am grateful for the staff at my little branch, who throughout the past year have made sure we had easy, safe access to books.
I am grateful for the abundance in my life. Not wealth, and that's just fine.

* For an amazing weekend with a friend who may end up as a new travel mate!
* The spectacular beauty of the northern CA coastline in the spring.
* Tiger Lily whose little legs kept on going after more than five miles of walking at the botanical gardens.
* Backup plan to keep my dad's property in the family (HIS wish, and most of ours) despite one of the sibs, possibly two, wanting to cash out with as much as they can.
* My financial status that enables me to want and choose to keep the family together, rather than bicker over money...
* Birthday celebrations have begun!

I've missed everyone! When I don't turn on the pc, I tend to not post because I don't like posting with my iPhone. Stephanie's note of concern is appreciated and here I am on the pc, *immensely* enjoying everyone's gratitudes!

~ Hel-LOOOO KaliGirl!!!

~ so enjoyed quality visits with Sandra during her stay, and also another friend who I haven't seen for far too long over brunch yesterday

~ headed out a little later to a friend's place in the country to care for her dogs while she's gone. It has been close to two years since I've helped her and visited the doggies, and I've missed them!

~ though the scales show me up 6 ounces, I still feel good about tracking and have ideas for doing better this week

~ followed though on going back to a store to get the sale price on some items which saved me over $13

This lovely cool morning I am grateful for the coolness that let me get a good night's sleep
I am grateful that my grandsons are healthy and happy
I am grateful for the time we get to spend with them, even if sleeping with Sy is like sleeping with a cuddly grasshopper, and Wylie thinks he's a bird, rising with a smile and a song at 4:15am.
I am grateful for the time and opportunity to nap!

On this quiet Friday evening, I'm grateful for:

-A weekend for some real R&R
-The very sweet Siamese cat that's hanging right by me as I think of gratitude
-Still enjoying the backyard bird shows, with special guests, Orchard Orioles and American Goldfinches, that are hanging out for a while ... I'm loving it! emoticon ... and let's not forget the magnificent birdsong that goes with ... aaaaaah
-My home, how fortunate I am to have the water gardens that draw such nature
-A lovely little glass of my favorite White French Bordeaux to break in a Friday evening
-Major project off my desk yesterday and on to the next set of eyes!
-Call from a good friend who's been both struggling and busy ... good to connect

Cherish the moments,
Stephanie

I am very grateful to you, Ann, forchecking in on me, since I haven’t posted in awhile. I do come here every day, and catch up with you all. I just don’t always post.
I am grateful for the rain we’ve gotten this week.
I am grateful for the first in person gathering in over a year of my happiness group. Of course it rained as soon as we all got situated outside with our drinks, but the coffeeshop was set up well in terms of distance.
I hope to be grateful for spening the night with Sy and Wylie tomorrow while mama and papa get away briefly… emoticon

Grateful
* That I woke up this morning.
* For a good water aerobics class to offset the food fest I've been on the past few days
* Birthday plans beginning to materialize
* Amazon, which makes shopping so easy. Needed water filter for fridge. Here in a day, and I didn't have to leave the house to go hunt for it!
* My home. My sanctuary. My blessing.

On this lovely Tuesday evening, I'm grateful for:

-A walk and talk with a dear friend; we've started shooting for every Monday p.m., but switched this week to accommodate my soup-sharing
-Some lovely light sprinkles for the last 5-10 minutes, then we got in our cars and it cut loose
-My favorite meal from my favorite Pan Asian restaurant, takeout, enjoyed after walking (what does it mean when you get a fortune cookie with no fortune??? Kinda spooky!)
-The solid day of exercise I've had after struggling with it for several days, so funny because I know how much better I feel after, just a disconnect sometimes
-Coming home to three adorably sweet kitties who are always as happy to see me as I am to see them
-Picking a new mystery novel to start in on soon
-Such beauty right here in my own back yard ... how fortunate am I?

Cherish the moment,
Stephanie

On this drenching Sunday evening, I'm grateful for:

-The water in the basement with heavy rain is not nearly as much as it could be, hoping it stays that way as lots more rain predicted here ... yikes!
-Last night's spectacular bird show in my water gardens, all my regulars, but also pairs of Orchard Orioles (like Baltimore, but more orange) and goldfinches, seasonal visitors, stunning!
-Lots of fun with my best friend via phone last night, new birds, new kitten for her, her garden
-Special fun kitty play time today, with everybody involved
-My comfortable home, a solid (although sometimes leaky) roof over our heads, shelter from the storms

Grateful this Sunday afternoon
* Patio finally cleaned!
* Salvaged plants are doing ok after dry wind storms. Will still have tomatoes, jalapeños, and green onions... hopefully zucchini, okra and cucumbers this summer...
* Great breakfast out with granddaughter today
* All the ingredients (except for galanga, which I had recently used up and not replaced) for Thai Tom Gum Gai soup. No shopping necessary!
* Finding forgiveness for a friend, who has enough to deal with other than just my disappointment in her...
* My sweet TigerLily, with her gentle, angelic spirit

Gratitude~~

~ play time with Sandra is "just around the corner!"

~ though I can feel that I'm not in my best shape, I nonetheless mostly enjoyed about a 15 mi. bike ride today

~ savored an Andy's Custard small chocolate malt (650 caories!) and duly noted it in the tracker

~ tomorrow I weigh in...here's hoping!

~ I asked for feedback about an orthopedic surgeon referral by my PCP because of knee challenges in a FB local "Ask" page -- and was totally blown away by EIGHTY-SEVEN responses, with EVERY SINGLE ONE of them singing his praises and/or raving about him! At one point I posted that I wondered if he is a man or a god...lol!

The worst thing we ever did
was put God in the sky
out of reach

pulling the divinity
from the leaf,
sifting out the holy from our bones,
insisting God isn’t bursting dazzlement
through everything we’ve made
a hard commitment to see as ordinary,
stripping the sacred from everywhere
to put in a cloud man elsewhere,
prying closeness from your heart.

The worst thing we ever did
was take the dance and the song
out of prayer
made it sit up straight
and cross its legs
removed it of rejoicing
wiped clean its hip sway,
its questions,
its ecstatic yowl,
its tears.

The worst thing we ever did is pretend
God isn’t the easiest thing
in this Universe
available to every soul
in every breath
