I am med free for fibro, just not worth how it affects me.
I am N.E.D (no evidence of dis-ease) from anal cancer
now biggest issue is all the side affect of the cure of cancer.
crazy ride

Over all I am great, I keep my focus on what I want more of, LOL

OMG... your experience definitely showed me that one should never take for granted any chemical we put into our bodies. I'm glad you got off the medication in time. How are things going?

Hi, I am new to the group.. when I was first prescribed it, I thought life savor for the pain. then as time passed it affected my brain. Lyrica is design to dull nerves.. Our brain is ALL nerves.
by the end of the year, I was in the deepest depression I had ever felt..
it was like trying to drag a full thought through tar.. I was doing nothing! couldn't even leave my room. I was like a zombi and didn't even realize it.
a friend came over one day and tossed me some herb that should help fibro, she shared how much I had changed in this year.
I wean myself off lyrica, with in a week, I could think, week two, out of my room, week three back out of the house..
unfortunately for me, week 4, found out I had anal cancer..
here the thing, I would have died and not even know due to how intense Lyrica suppressed brain functions.
my advice is if your taking it, have someone who knows you kind of monitor your behavior since starting and now.
Fibro sucks, but I will take the pain over living in the deep pit of tar.

I take an earlier version - gabapentin and have for months now. I need to look more carefully at my day-to-day to determine if I'm having a reaction but so far I think it's helping

I have taken Lyrica into the way past, one two separate ones. Both times i took it for no matter than two days. I had very bad reactions to the medication!! They only reasons that I took it again years later was to rule out or confirm what exactly was going to me.

I have been taking Lyrica for quite some time now (years) and was just diagnosed with Benign Tremor by my neuro. This does not give me a lot of confidence in my neuro or my Rheumy. I Have been having severe memory issues and word finding problems. Mood=not happy. :/

I reacted to Lyrica and everything else trialed. A lot of these meds also have some use for depression and/or anxiety. Some of these neurologic reactions can become permanent it seems to the individuals that have them. I had widespread muscle tremors, and swelling and numbness of the distal extremities with drugs in this group. This can cause increased falling.

Like HIPPIEGIRL, not a happy experience. Two days and 15 pounds later, my doctor vetoed the drug... I'm diabetic with kidney disease, and more weight is NOT an option!

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But I don't think you have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too!

Took it for four days, gained 8 pounds and then had a massive allergic reaction. UGH!

I have been on LYRICA about 3 1/2 weeks and it seems to help some. My doctor started me at a really low dose. What are your thoughts and experiences with Lyrica?
