Woubbs... I use my phone these days.
While I have a laptop (old), I rarely use it at all.

Thanks for the info!

I was just talking to my husband about how tough it is to hit the sweet spot with vision as you get older. Every person I know has found a unique solution to their challenges!

He had just bought himself a new rifle that he's always wanted - a Henry Golden Boy - and he was sad because wearing his gradient bifocals he could either see the target OR the sights, but not both.

Kris, I have bificals, but they didn't work for the computer. Reading lens on the bottom caused neck pain, and the distance part was out of focus. So I got a special pair for computer use - bifocals with the reading lens, but the upper lens is mid-distance, not far distance. This allows me to read the computer screen and any paperwork without changing glasses.

Before I got these, I had a pair of computer glasses, but I couldn't read paperwork with them.

Hard to believe it's solstice time already! I feel like I've lost a couple of months with all my inactivity.

Hey, Debb @YANKEEBACKHOME, do you usually post here from your phone or from a computer? I was running a test on the new forum site, and it's actually pretty readable on even a small screen. Can't customize your posts, but text comes through just fine.

@FITKRIS No worries. Maybe just lurk for awhile and see if it suits you? I think you can read as a Guest, just can't post.

I haven't joined the other LLC forum yet. IDK why, I'm just feeling rebellious for some reason. Or maybe in denial.

I went to my brother-in-law for an eye exam yesterday, it had been 2 years due to Covid. My eyes have changed a bit, and my glasses are almost 5 years old so I'm getting new ones, maybe 2 pairs. I'm going to see how the first ones work out for working all day on my computer. Right now I have to tip my head up to see well (I have bifocals) but we're thinking the correction should help that. If not, I'll get some glasses just for computer work.

Also went to my in-laws for supper last night, and my parents today. Dad is really sore after fishing all week and had my mom bring him to the ER on Friday night, his shoulder/neck hurt so bad. They did x-rays and gave him pain meds. If he's not doing better in a few more days I'll try to get him to see the chiropractor.

I still need to get groceries and take the dog for a walk. Not a relaxing weekend at all, I haven't been this busy since before Covid. Grateful for the opportunities to be doing normal things again though.

Lazy day. My son came over with the grandkids this morning and brought breakfast. Afterwards we all played a game (Catchphrase) and had a good time.

My son gave my DH an advanced version of ROKU, turns out it doesn't support Spectrum (our cable provider). he was going to take it back, but DH said to just leave it. Now we can't watch much of anything on that TV??????

Just don't feel like doing anything at the moment....

I am skeptical that they will have as robust a community at the new site. I'm actually also pretty happy with the new forum site, it's so much easier to customize and organize. I think the single biggest problem is the default font sizes, you constantly have to remember to adjust the size before you post.

On the other hand, we've been stuck with ZERO font choices here for years, so it's still a trade up.

Over time the biggest problem will be attrition and lack of a larger community to add new fresh faces from. We'll deal with that as we go, I guess.

Kyle and I did some shopping yesterday, and I picked up my first two gallons of exterior paint. I had bought a pint sample of the color I thought I'd like and I love it. The sample was satin finish, though, and shows every single flaw, so the full gallon is flat finish. Of the good/better/best paint ranges, I usually get the 'better' variety, but this time I'm going for 'best' and it's definitely worth it. Primes and totally covers everything in two coats, no streaks. And I'm going from dirty white to dark charcoal. I'll post pictures when it looks less like I'm painting a barn.

I took food to Mom yesterday, so I don't think I have any other pressing things on my to-do list other than to get painting. I'll probably bounce between patching and painting, since I'm easily bored these days.

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day!

I have moved over to Living Low Carb and like it better than Spark. I, too, think Spark handled the announcement and roll out very poorly. I'm ready to let them go just like they let us go.

Probably a fairly typical summer Sunday today. Take Russell for a walk before it gets too hot. Do grocery shopping for Mom and for me. If I remember, stop by Costco and fill up with gas. Go to Mom's house and do her laundry, refill her pill boxes, and play a game or two. Water my outside plants. Will also finish sorting a laundry basket of papers I swept away when back in 2018 to get the house tidied up for company.

High of "only" 90 today. Six days forecasted to be in the 100s in the next two weeks. Average high is 81 or 82. Sure wish this heat dome would move! However, I sat out on the patio yesterday evening when it was about 90 and was quite comfortable. In the shade, of course, and breezy, and very very low humidity. Wouldn't have wanted to be doing anything (like mowing the lawn) but it was quite nice for reading.

Fireworks have started already. They're not legal for another couple of days, but that doesn't seem to stop some people. I mostly haven't heard them but Russell sure has. He's not happy. We'll go to Mom's house for the night of the 4th. The city fireworks display is about a mile from my house and that's entirely too much noise for the poor puppy.

Have been eating lots of main dish salads this past week or so. Too hot to cook. I'm almost out of meat to put in the salads, though. Will need to cook some more. Thank you, Crock Pot and Instant Pot!

SnoopyPal said that she talked to the Spark360 folks and they told her that the community and trackers would be up and running by the time SparkPeople closes. Then we'll need to make a decision whether to move to Spark360 or to livinglowcarb.freeforums.net. I know a lot of things have been copied to LLC already, and some folks are already over there instead of here. Come to think of it, even if the new site is ready shortly before the old site closes, there won't be time to copy things to it. I guess we'll have to move to LLC rather than to Spark360. I know there are a lot trust issues with Spark, anyway. They handled the whole thing very poorly.

Happy first day of summer! And Happy Father's Day to any men out there.
