I created it, but it put it 3rd in the list. I think since I'm not admin, I can't pin it to the top. Perhaps you could unpin the end of 2020 thread and pin the new one.

If anyone can start a new topic start New year, New Start, January please. I’ve tried 6 times and it doesn’t work for me. It could be limited access on my phone.
Aaaack sorry to hear about your mother’s health issues. Very frustrating trying to find the information I’m sure. Glad your family got that sorted out. Information of any kind is helpful at any time.
Chris I read a couple of your blogs. I figured how to I can’t get to spark pages in my phone. Take care.
Redshoe nice to just hear regularly even a quick sentence.
Cathy hopefully your GD will get something soon. I can only imagine what it’s like looking for work right now.
I really haven’t done much except laundry, put stuff away and a few little things since I got home.
Today I’m making spaghetti squash lasagna and maybe butternut squash soup, DD and I are going to start meal planning on the weekend. I’m not sure why but I haven’t had any desire for sweets in the last few weeks. I’ve eaten some I have most of my chocolate gifts etc away. I’ve gained weight since I lost the 9 lbs not the whole 9 lbs.
Everyone stay safe and take care.

Next few days are going to be busy for me, likely won't get to much. Mom is in hospital and we're trying to get info. It's hard. My recommendation is that everyone get a HIPAA signed for yourself and loved ones to grant access to medical info with your primary doc. Then if you are hospitalized for any reason, have your loved ones contact your primary care doc to be the liaison with the hospital to ensure you can get updates.

After 2 days of us kids basically getting zero info on my mom, I finally got my sister to remember to contact my mom's primary care doc, who I know she's been involved in appointments w/my mom and that doc. And a HIPAA was signed at that office. It worked!! The primary care doc got in contact with the hospital (he hadn't been informed she was there prior to the call), and was able to give us much more info than we had before!

She has COVID, a leg infection and pneumonia. The last 2 things we didn't know. We knew about the COVID b/c in a coherent moment she was able to tell us that she had been moved from the ER to a COVID ward.

So, I'll apologize in advance for being a bit MIA in the next few days, and for this unsolicited advice. But if my experience can help anyone else, I felt that I just had to share it.

(will post exact same thing on I Matter general chat, so those of you who are on both teams, you can skip a double read, LOL)

1Avery, Happy to hear you have arrived safely at home. It will be interesting to see if the schools really to start back on the 11th as planned!

Chris, It's so good to hear from you. I hope you heal quickly. But take as much as you need. We are all here cheering for you!

Cathy, I'm sure there is a better opportunity out there for your GD. It is hard to make it so far and not get the job. But you are right, there is a larger then normal pool to draw from right now!

Winter, such a bummer about the hand! So, you get time off, but with a broken hand, not much you can do...that's frustrating. Yo will have to invest in a stationary bike...that can be done one handed! LOL! Take care of you!

Things are just humming along here. Nothing new to report, but wanted to stop in and catch up!

Chris I hope you feel better soon. Is it still the allergic rash from the dye or is this a new rash?
Winters I’m glad everything got settled and had goodbye on a happy note. I hope your wrist isn’t giving you too much pain. I read all the posts. I actually read them every day and look forward to them.
The COVID numbers are on the rise everywhere it doesn’t look good any time soon. I’m due to start back on the bus on the 11th we’ll see.
I’m home I left Monday morning. Driving was good roads were dry the sky was grey but clear both days.
I want to start tracking food again soon.

GD didn't get her job. She was in the top three, and I did remind her that covid has put a lot of highly skilled people out of work.

AAAACK: hope you had a pleasant walk. Yeah I think 2020 had to have one last poke at me before it was gone.

REDSHOEBLUE: I got to see an orthopedic doc yesterday I now have a cast and am out of work unless my bosses can find something for me to do one handed until at least 4 weeks .

I am up by almost 10 pounds now so I'm going to have to work extra hard to get the stress levels down and quit binge eating. my sugar/carb cravings are through the roof, I'm starting the Atkins diet program hoping I can lose the cravings. and get back to a normal routine, I wont be able to do a lot of my yoga routine but I can do the balance and leg exercises.

Chris how are you feeling? hope every thing is going well with you,

GRAMMACathy And 1AVERY hope everything is going well with you .

I need to get started this morning so have a nice day everyone

Oh wow, Chris, I hope you're feeling better! And back soon. We miss you.

Winter, you're having quite the winter this year, aren't you? I suppose it's nice that you were offered the opportunity to leave that visit on a good note, but wow, what a ride!

The thing with kids...oh I'll have to finish later, we're leaving on the family walk, I was just catching up here until time to go.

Have a good start to the year, everyone!

Happy Monday Team! Things are ramping up to be busy at work. Kind of makes me nervous as I haven't seen this kind of volume before, and the news keeps on saying we haven't peaked yet with Covid cases. Just trying to take life as it happens...but, eek!

Winter, I'm so happy that the holiday visit ended on a happy note. Guess that train needed to leave early to that could happen! Weird how things work out..And good grief about your hand! Hopefully you can find a doctor quickly, and can get released to go back to work!

1Avery, safe travels today!

Chris, I miss you! I hope you are doing okay. Heal quickly! The team isn't the same without you here!

we got to the train station last night , the train showed up and before we were half way across the parking lot with their bags the train left, it couldn't have been stopped for more than a minute, even the customer service person we called stated yeah I see it showing up at 5:05 and leaving at 5:06 . how is that any time for someone to go from the car to the train. ??? So they had to spend the night , and we have to drive them back to the station today

So I wonder why God decided they needed to stay another night? all in all it wasn't a bad night , we bought a pizza and some sandwiches from Dominos , I had Plain chicken wings, talked and laughed till bedtime. So maybe we just needed that to intervene, I don't know . the kids behaved , my daughter apologized, we apologized and we had a good time. funny isn't it. it took the train leaving them behind to break the tension.

I have to call the insurance people today to find a good orthopedic doctor in network I can go to about my arm. so I can find out if I can go to work or have to stay home until it heals.
have a great day everyone. ,

Winter your stress level must be very high right now. Come on here and vent as often as you need to. One leaves and another comes to stay. I hope she is motivated to get back on her feet fast.
We got quit a bit of snow last night. DH is shovelling I’ve told him to come in and leave it for a pole. I’ll leave on Monday if it’s not plowed out in time. I don’t want to leave too late it gets dark at 5 so I’d have to pull over earlier it would take 3 days instead of 2. I’d rather stay here an extra day.

I don't know if anyone has ever seen it but there was a commercial a couple years ago, and it shows a rather large boy , early or pre teen, playing video games on the tv, and he picks up his cell phone and calls someone, then they go to an old woman with a walker, trying to make her way to the phone that is ringing off the wall. when she reaches and answers it , the boy , says
'hey Grandma can you bring me another soda.' That's an exact replica of my soon to be 14yr old grandson.

1Avery, its more my daughters fault then anything, she lets them do whatever they want. and they know if they pester and aggravate her enough they will get what they want. but if i say anything im the villian. I sat her down and told her look, i don't care how they act in your house but here we have rules and codes of conduct. We expect everyone to follow.
And its not just their behavior, they my daughter included act like they don't have to ask for anything, i have had to have chats with her about rooting through my things, giving my granddaughter my ear buds, , going in to my room and rummaging through the medicine cabinet, if its something the kids want , they can have it , no asking , just give it.. she has no concept of boundaries. I am on the verge of telling her they can come for visit from now on but no more spending days here. its overnight and go home,, or we can just meet and greet somewhere for a visit. I never thought i would ever be this way.

Now my husband tells me his 36 yr old daughter is coming to live with us. "just until she gets back on her feet' and she is a boundary breaker and acts like everything in the house belongs to her dad so there for belongs to her. My stress level is through the roof right now.
and i don't know when i will get to return to work with this broken arm. And the patients are going to miss having Sadie around, Maybe the ortho will tell me i can work with it if i keep the splint on it and don't use it much .

Chris i hope you are feeling better, or at least not getting worse with the Covid stuff.

Avery i hope your trip goes well . We got our first little dusting of snow here , but had an ice storm come in before the snow.

and my eating has gone through the roof as well, i am starting over again tomorrow. going to try the Atkins diet. and see where i get with it , it doesn't seem as restrictive as strict keto so wish me luck.

Winter, your grandchildren sound like a large portion of children now a days. I was a babysitter for years and have noticed the kids are pretty much in charge these days. The parents do everything for them. I watch as the parents carry the backpacks to and from school. They are making the kids rude obnoxious and lazy. The children I babysat plus my grandchildren say I’m mean. They all love me though because I made them mind learn and use manners and to become independent respectable teens and adults.
I’m so sorry your holidays are going to be so stressful as well as hopefully not too painful.
Chris do you have any idea where you might have been exposed? I just remembered you said you must have got the flu from the doctor’s office. That’s not good. I hope you feel better soon. Try to get as much sleep as possible even if you have to take something to help you sleep.
I just registered to go through New Brunswick tomorrow I’m hoping to leave around 9 tomorrow morning. There is supposed to be a lot of snow later this afternoon in Nova Scotia. Starting early this morning in New Brunswick so I would be driving into the storm. New Brunswick is a beautiful ride not so nice in the winter. Friends and family have been caught in the bad weather and had to get a motel for the duration of the storm. Tomorrow looks clear and good all the way.

happy new year everyone ,

Chris I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I fell yesterday and broke the radius in my left hand .. so typing is more of a hunt and peck , I will try to keep up with every one , my daughter , granddaughter and grandson have been here since Tuesday the 28th. it wouldn't be so bad but my grandkids are very rude and ill mannered. and since she took amtrac train and wont be goin back till sunday its been an ordeal, my DH does not do well with ill manners, or rudeness, and for some reason if I tell them to do something she does it for them,, if I tell them not to do something she lets them behind my back, im walking on eggshells trying to keep the peace and this break in my arm is not helping the tensions any .

any way time to go unplug a tv have a great night every one

Well, I am positive for Covid. Mostly rashes , slight fever, feeling like the flu all over.

Chest rash can actually hurt. So I am drinking tons. Sister is dropping off more broths and ginger ale.

She works in a nursing home. Her advice is if breathing gets hard call 911. So far breathing is OK.

Love you all, chris

It’s a New Year I hope you all had a good night. I played games on my phone, sparked a bit. Watched tv and talked to the people that were with DH playing cards socially distanced of course. BIL set off a flare at midnight. SIL had sparklers on her hat. They all enjoyed bringing in the new year. I got about 3 hours sleep. Not sure what kept me awake. I’ll be checking the weather today to see if I should wait or leave tomorrow.

I tried typing all sorts of things, I think flowers was one of the ones I kept typing in. But no, never got ads for flowers. I do like the clothing ads. But lately it's all stuff for seniors and the aforementioned g-word.

Smart to not mention the thing you had.

Embi, 7 moves is a lot. I admire you for not accumulating much. I think moving helps. I used to say (during my every 2 years moving days) that the number of boxes you pack/unpack that are labeled "cr@p" tells how long it's been since your last move. LOL

So, I keep typing things like cool SHOES, pretty BLOUSES and fun KAYAKs and voila the ads change to reflect what is important to me. Try it. Let me know if it works for you. I am avoiding telling you what was on my ads a while back because I don't want to see it again. But it was pretty disgusting. Wonder if I can get some nice ART SUPPLIES to pop up.

I thought I had moved a lot...Nothing compared to what you are all describing! As a child, we lived in the same home, my parents still do....so I never moved. Since moving here, 22 years ago, I have moved 7 times. I don't tend to collect much stuff. But I sure do collect enough in between moves...

My ads are of rugs. I don't know why, I haven't even been shopping for rugs! Oh well...better then guns!?

I'm also a military brat.

And my husband also likes me to just handle stuff and then tell him about it later. We used to have a dollar threshold that we'd discuss stuff over, but now I just do what I need to, and let him know the price range. Big stuff usually isn't an instant spend, so between ordering and arrival, I could cancel if he was too astounded. I'm extremely frugal, though, so he generally doesn't worry.

Why in the world do I have gun ads in my margins. Not nice ads, either. I'm really hating Spark ads these last few days.

Actually our house in Cambridge is the longest I’ve ever lived in the same place. 15 years now I’ve moved at least 32 times in my live. I do t get attached to anything or anywhere. I think it’s because I was an army brat. Also chaos is my stability I dint do calm and easy. Actually saying that I e been here for 9 days and haven’t done much of anything. Laying in bed reading and watching tv. I do calls and stuff when DH isn’t here I do a lot of stuff he doesn’t know about saves fighting. It’s worked for over 45 years I think he likes to be in the dark. Lol
We watched The War with Grandpa it was very funny. I’m heading back on the 2nd.

Nausea is a rough road, to be sure. I hope you pass that portion of the illness soon!

Sometimes when I read the posts here I think to myself, wow, does everyone just have more energy than I do? I can't imagine being in a near-constant state of moving house. With everything half-decided. I think I'd go up the walls. You're a strong woman! Actually I think everyone here is a super strong woman!

We moved every 2 years for about 10 years. But have been in our current house for 13 now. As everything begins to break (the house is more than 20 years old) we discuss moving and quickly decide no. We just can't face the amount of work and upheaval it would involve. Our son doesn't do well with change in the first place, but the amount of cr@p we've accumulated in the last 13 years is nothing short of astounding.

I'm clearing out, but it's going to take some time.

What can I do for myself today?

Love silver linings. Makes life so much happier. So from the Big Life Journal I got the GKs for Christmas along with money is this quote for January:

Whatever happens we can handle it.

Yes we can. We are a bunch of tough ladies that have been through all kinds of ups and downs over the years. Many of us sharing right here on Spark People. As long as we keep reaching for the positive it will come our way.

1Avery, It will be fun to see how this all pans out. Well, maybe not as fun for you, but interesting from this side of things. I'm happy you are so flexible and not worried about it. Most, including myself, would probably be up-in-arms over the entire thing.

Wintersdream, How fantastic that Sadie goes to work with you! I had a yellow lab that used to come with me. He has since passed, but it really left a hole in our team at work. We all miss him.

Cathy, I too am struggling with food. And exercise is just about out the window. I can't seem to convince myself to get moving. But of course, if I didn't have these issues, I likely wouldn't have met all of you...so there is my silver lining. emoticon

Chris, I hope you feel better quickly! The flu is miserable. Take care of you!

AAAACK, I love your quote and the thoughts behind it. I too have to remind myself that things don't have to get done...nobody is going to notice the difference. My partner often reminds me of that. Lately, it's been all about traditions. "well traditionally...." That's one of my favorite ways to start a sentence. And, really, why not start a new tradition! One where, the table isn't set perfect, and there are not hours spent in the kitchen. One where there is more free time, and less stress. More enjoyable moments and not memories of trying to create the perfect pintrest moment. I'm learning....

I'm so happy to catch up with all of you! Work has been incredibly busy (sadly). I am learning daily how to just "be". I am focusing on more water intake, adding matcha to my daily routine, and back to tracking my food. I am trying to be more aware of what I'm doing, and more to the point...eating. Sometimes I just blindly stuff things in my mouth because they are there, and so am I. Later, wondering if it even tasted good?? I'm not sure that any of that made sense...but it does in my head. Have a great week! chat more soon! emoticon

I don’t really need internet my DD will be working from home. She is a law clerk so it needs to be good. The most important is my Gson he needs fast speed etc he is a gamer he has anxiety and doesn’t work he’s in a disability pay. He needs good and fast internet or it will be very miserable in the house. I’m not really too upset if I have to stay in Ontario longer.

Chris Sorry to hear your sick, hope you get to feeling better soon.

1AVERY: our internet isn't very good here either, we are at the very end of the area in which our provider serves which is 16 miles from the nearest town. We could get satellite service here but then my husband cant play his online World of Warships , and World of tanks, games, because of the delay in sending and receiving the signal so we put up with 2gb , Could you do satellite there ??

AAAACK; that's a very interesting quote I need to remind myself of that because if worry all the time about the things I didn't get done today. at work and at home.

GRAMMACATHY; Glad you had a nice Christmas , Christmas morning we spoke with the kids and grandkids by telephone, then I went to work,

My Dog Sadie has started going with me again so the patients get a kick out of seeing, spoiling and petting her. She is such a Gentle giant.

I have been struggling with food since Christmas , trying to get back on track, I need to get back into exercising every day. but I always find something I have to do that takes precedence over everything else then I run out of time either have to go to work or before I know it its time for bed. I will work on that .

Have a great day everyone.

This thread gets past me pretty quickly too.

Chris get well.

Had a pleasant Christmas with GD and her friends, but I too have been struggling for the last three days with food. Today was better. The sun was shining and I was able to get two walks in. Also, been trying to drink more fluids.

Feel better soon Chris I know nausea is an awful feeling. Take care of yourself.
I put the new kitchen in the Cambridge house mostly because it should have been done years ago. The cupboards were rotten and mouldy. As we ripped it about we saw there must have been a bad leak in the past. Years ago I’d been there for over 10 years.
The house in Nova Scotia we have put a lot of money. A new furnace, heat pump, roof and deck. I’m not sure how much I would sell it for yet. At least in Cambridge I know prices. After I talk to DD we will decide if we will sell Nova Scotia first.
Today I will check out closest area with good internet in Nova Scotia. I will call the plumber about the walk in shower. DH is going to get an oil change and take a relative to town to see her DH in the hospital.
I’ll probably do some laundry and maybe force myself to talk a short walk. The temps have really cooled off. 12 the other day to 2 later today. I can feel the difference inside even.
I was thinking of leaving the 29th or 2nd depending. I’ll talk to DD today everything seems good in Cambridge.

I know Teri, you put extra work into the house you were in. I thought that was all for your own benefit.

I am still fighting this flu. I hate nausea!

Aaaaack we might put this house up for sale and buy in a different location in Nova Scotia. I’ll talk to my DD when I get back to Cambridge. If DH would talk we could have sold to our house guests. I wouldn’t be upset or hurt moving from the area where our house is. We could get closer to water where internet is better. We can’t add boosters because it’s the internet speed that goes out apparently is as fast as it will go.

Teri, you're not moving? At all? It looks like you said the internet at the place you were moving isn't good. Maybe you can get signal boosters or do a bit more research to find some way...

In reading the amazing life stories of all you guys in the posts I missed by being gone for a month, I wish I could have commented as you posted them, but not most of my comments feel too late or out of place. However, one thing Chris said really resonated with me:

"Lots and lots of stuff never got done. Somehow life goes on."

This struck me. Hard. I worry so much about what isn't getting done, hourly, daily, weekly, you get the idea. I spend so much time fretting about what isn't getting done. And Chris' statement couldn't be any more true and pure. Somehow life goes on.

This doesn't mean I don't need to tend to these things, but whatever doesn't get done isn't going to stop the world from spinning. Funny how some things just speak to you in different ways. But wow that did!

Eating-wise I've been exploring a new kind of non-plan and it's been working for me so far. It's only been a short time, but it's the first time I've lost weight without squeezing the numbers so hard. I'll explain it more in the evening eating forum/chat thread. This post is already long enough! LOL

What can I do for myself today?

Merry Christmas everyone , Happy Holidays, We celebrated last night Christmas Eve because I have to go to work today . But we had a non traditional Prime Rib , and Lobster tails. I made a mashed Cauliflower for me and Roasted asparagus, my husband and our friend/ neighbor had baked potatoes. It was really nice. We spoke to all the kids, and grandkids. watched Miracle on 34th street the 1947 black and white version ,

I'm a little disgusted with the Direct TV any Christmas movie or show you wanted to watch like that miracle on 34th street , scrooge, a Christmas carol, was you had to rent it , I'm not a big fan of the older movies but my hubby is so I watch them with him

I didn't do very well abstaining from the desserts, over ate. but I will do better today and from now on. and work was even worse with all the desserts my coworkers brought in

Again Merry Christmas everyone

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.
I’m just watching tv and reading these days. More or less isolating and distancing if I go to the kitchen. People are coming to the bedroom door to chat or just say Hi!
I just brought all the gifts in from my van. We will FaceTime with DD and Gson in the morning. I don’t believe in FaceTime so I’m breaking one of my rules and letting people see me on their phones.

I am so far behind on this thread, it's going to take me a while to catch up. So, for now I'll say Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and happy holiday season to those who don't. I wish you all a year-end with something pleasant, or even something wonderful. Hats off to all of you for your efforts, the love you give, and the people you care for.

Spent hours on the phone trying to get government papers for various reasons.
I looked into internet today so now the move is off. Internet was very important it might be awhile before it will be powerful enough that it will work for us. I told my DD it will be our vacation home. DD is very disappointed she may come and stay with DH and Gson and I stay at the house in Cambridge,

Happy day here. GD had a job interview on zoom today. They liked her enough that she is coming back for an in person interview on the 4th. Woohoo! She also talked to her college advisor. She gets her BS in political science this term, but needs two more classes to get her BS in international studies. It will be great to have her out and about and busy. She has been wonderful through this covid, but I think she misses the out of the house routines.

I also got to visit a friend at her place of employment today. I so badly wanted to hug her. But we stayed safe. It was so nice to see her in person. The excuse was to get Buddy out of the house for an hour so he wouldn't decide to start barking during the zoom interview.

Hi Team! I just got back from a profoundly amazing staycation. I really enjoyed the time. I read a book, I cross stitched, I listened to music, had long conversations with friends, went for walks..it was so relaxing. Last night we put on a Winter Solstice celebration for a handful of friends. It was such a beautiful evening...picture below..

Winter, Your patients are so lucky to have you. You have a tough job in normal circumstances, and with COVID, the load you and your coworkers take on, is incredible. I appreciate you, and the work you do...making the most of an incredibly difficult situation.

1Avery, I'm glad you made it safe and sound. I hope your return trip is just as uneventful.

GrammaCathy, I eat between 6 and 6. I have tried to go longer, but being diabetic and hypoglycemic, it just doesn't work for me to go longer. But, 12 hours seems to work okay. Not that I'm shedding pounds, but I feel better.

Chris, I am one of those Christmas lovers as well. I put my tree up as soon as Halloween is over, and I've been listening to Christmas music for months. I love the lights, the music, the spirit. However, oddly, I don't do Christmas gifts. IT just seems silly to me. If there is something I want, I'm going to buy it, no matter what time of the year it is. And as far as gifts from others, I wish for people, when out and about all year long, if they are to stumble across something that makes them think of me, that they will gift it at that time, not when the calendar tells them it's time to gift something. But, I would love to get a new sweatshirt! That sounds fantastic!

I do hope this note finds you all well! Happy Winter Solstice! A new season has begun, and the light is returning, longer each day! We got this! emoticon

it just dawned on me ,,, and im not happy about it , but the nursing home I work in has not done anything to celebrate Christmas ,, no decorations, no tree, nothing,, and I understand we are just getting back to some semblance of normalcy but ,,, really???? even at my old job the activity department is doing such an amazing job , the staff is dressing up ,, having contest like ugly sweater contest,, crazy hat day ,, etc,, the place I am at now,, Nothing... Im so disappointed, I guess tomorrow I will go buy some stockings and gifts and hand them out on Christmas for the patients, seeing as how I have to work Christmas.

Chris im sorry the people at your husbands nursing home don't give him his snacks, I have to admit ,, sometimes I forget someone has snacks in the fridge till , I am in there getting something for someone else or getting pudding to pass meds with. But that sucks , especially if it would brighten his day to have a snack or food from his lovely lady.

I haven't been doing so great with not eating when I come home. I just cant get over this craving for butter and bread,,, being keto , butter is allowed but store bought yeasty , wheat flour bread is definetly not. and I just don't know what to do ,, I have tried other ,, snacks but I end up just eating the butter bread any way , and im talking at least 4 slices of bread , there has to be a solution some how. The intermittent fast worked about a week then bu by like always.

I think sweatshirts are a great gift. I got one with the Grinch wrapped in Christmas lights and it says is this Jolly enough. I’m not a fan of Christmas season. I also have a tshirt with a pug picture that says Bah hum pug.
I made it to the house two awful days of driving. Rain, snow slush and fog. Both days took way longer than they should have. Very sore by the time I arrived at the hotel and house. At least 2 hours later than it should have both days. I just realized I arrived at 9 pm both nights. I wasn’t tired just in pain. Tylenol and Advil both nights.
I’m not sure when I’m heading back home. Ontario goes into complete lockdown on the 26th. School won’t be back until at least the 11th. We’ll see how it goes here and at home with the dogs. I was thinking the 29th but if schools was closed longer maybe staying until the 2nd.

Winter, I keep my eating between 10 am and 6 pm. It really helps avoid binges. I never thought about it being intermittent fasting, but it does fit the criteria.

I had a post that disappeared from here yesterday. Can't decide if it is me or SP. I might log off before it has finished loading all the dang adds and then my stuff.

I told everyone no adult presents this year. Just the three grandkids. That made it much easier.

A sweatshirt does not sound like much of a gift but it has jokes about being an engineer on it. I gave him a few nice warm sweaters last year. He really does not need more of those. I also got him Reader's Digest and the daily paper. DD got him a subscription to Time magazine. I send in food treats I know he likes. Even those don't always get to him. Some are in the fridge and he just keep forgetting to ask for them. I remind him daily! It does not do much good. Aides and nurses don't look for such treats for him . I put signs on everything but, oh well, not much more I can do.

When I was visiting him, I would do lots to keep him occupied. It is very frustrating all around.
