Wondered if they would. They have been good in the past at noticing when a group of people had a problem and doing a make up

Niantic has announced a make up event - no date yet.

And, one of the biggest complaints was that they had claimed you could do this from home, which turned out to not be true.

Here's hoping they do right by the rural/homebound players!

The few times I got a poke stop I walked 1/4 mile in the snow and ice, one spin was all the cold I could take. Then I walked 1/4 mile home. The trip took a little over 1/2 an hour. A 20 minute mile is normal. A 17 minute mile isn't uncommon. I would have to drive 50 miles to get anywhere were there more a than a few poke stops.

There are 9 poke stops in town, which I couldn't get to last week if I wanted, 4 outside of town, one of then is the one near my house, 2 aren't that far away, I normally walk to them, but couldn't get to them because of the snow and ice. Now that I can go to Mom's 20 miles away I get 8 stops and 3 gyms. Before I put the stops near the house I thought I was doing go to get 10 spins a day. Now I try and plan my dog walks so I can get the 3 poke stops and gym near the house at least twice every walk. The near by towns have 4, 5 and 6 poke stops. Then there are the 2 towns between us that have 1 each.

Bummer! I suspect the weather was a really big issue for folks in the north and west. My sister is in a rural area, but she could drive since SC did not have snow and ice.

I did do it, Not a single shinny, but then Because of the snow and I could walk down to the poke stop at the end of the street a couple of times and other then that stayed in the house. The things they had instead of rockets, didn't use balloons I got 1, but not enough to finish. Still trying to get the candies to evolve the last one of that challenge and hoping to get enough invites to do the raid challenge, but have 4 more to do. Was it worth it NO. Maybe when they make it so country folks and shut in can do it. But if you are country and a shut in you are so out of luck.

Wondering how many did the ticketed event? And how did everyone do? Did you think it was worth the money? If you did not do the event, why?

I will admit that $12 for guaranteed shiny Ditto and shiny Mew is a bit much, but it was a great distraction from the COVID and politics dominating the news.

My son and I started at a local restaurant with a 'skinny omelet' of egg whites and veggies and a side of fruit then met some friends at 9 a.m. Once the raiding portion was fulfilled, the group split up.

I did the entire 12 hours (phew!) and ended up with 24 shinies (9 of which I did not have), so 2 per hour. Reddit reported 4 per hour. Wondering if stopping to raid decreased the number I found.

Shiny list: (what was yours?)
Hitmonchan (3); Vulpix (2); Horsea (2); Meowth (2); and one each of Hitmonlee, Sandshrew, Porygon, Abra, Eevee, Pikachu, Nidoran (M), Omanyte, Slowpoke, Exeggcute, Bellsprout, Aerodactyl, Ditto, Mewtwo, and Dratini
