I really want to incorporate exercise into my daily life. In the past, I would go full throttle for about a week and then burn myself out. I feel that starting out at 10 minutes a day walking will help me get into a routine. I am ready to start my journey!

I try to make light of my weight gain but as luck would have it, its quite frustrating. I am committing to the 10 minutes using my arm weights to help strengthen my muscles and tighten the loose skin so I might wear a tank top.. have not done that in about 15 years.

Today I joined this team again, but ths time I will be successful. I am going to do 10 minutes a day. As this is week one for me 10 minutes every day is a good way to start a routine.

Hey everyone! I'm new to this challenge, but I've been educating myself on proper nutrition and I've been gaining massive motivation through spark people and those who love me. My current goals are to be able to run a 10k marathon and to lift 50lbs unassisted. I've been drinking my water and finding any creative ways possible to incorporate extra physical activity in my day, and I feel like I can take on this challenge. Happy, healthy and stress free, here I come! emoticon

I had been trying to stick to 40 to 60 minutes a day, but then I'd miss a day or two and get discouraged. So I'm going to try to commit to at least 10 minutes a day and hope that the shorter workouts help me get back on track.

First day at SP and first challenge - this challenge seems a great place to start so I will do at least 10 minutes of exercise a day in the form of brisk walking or exercise DVD. I can do this and by doing it every day for 4 weeks I'll be building an exercise habit . . . something I've never done before. We can do this!!!

My goal is to start with 10 minutes a day of walking - even though my back is sore. I figure the back ache will go away eventually.

Ok, I'll commit to 10 mins a day, but for now it will have to be strength training. I hurt myself over the weekend and it hurts to walk or even get up and down so I'll focus on strength until I'm better and then switch to cardio.

My big goal for the challenge is to exercise everyday for at least 10 min, and twice a week for a half hour. Hopefully I'll come out of this challenge with some exercise consistency so that I can maintain a workout schedule.

I've been doing fairly well at getting cardio in, as I usually lesson plan while on my stationery bike. But I don't really enjoy working with weights, so I've been neglecting strength training.

My goal is to keep up the cardio, and add strength training 3 days a week.

PKAYM--don't get discouraged! Just keep plugging along. Sometimes it takes an extra week or two to show any progress and than you're on the right track again. Stay off the scale and track what you're eating and before you know it you'll have the weight off. I know YOU CAN DO IT!!

Every day is a new beginning. Take a deep breath and start again!

My goals are to exercise at least 10 mins a day but am hoping for 30 mins and I want to lose 14 #'s by Memorial Day, that is 2#'s per week. I will be happy if I even get close. I have lost 20 #'s already but I have hit a plateau and have became discouraged. Hopefully this challenge will get me back to moving.

I thought I had posted my goals but I guess I didn't. I am going to make it to the pool at least 3 times this week. I still have the exercises that I did when I was taking physical therapy at the pool laminated. That is 45 minutes. I will make an appointment with the personal trainer to learn the gym equipment. I will exercise at home on days I don't go to the pool.

My goal is to work out more consistently. In the past I've always been an all or nothing kind of dieter/exerciser and that clearly isn't working. I'd like to build a routine and stick with it so I don't keep sliding backwards.

My goal is to get down to 149 lbs so I'm looking at a 15 lbs weight loss. My goals for the first week are fairly simple: 1) 10 minutes of stretching every day. I'm taking it slow because it's been quite awhile since I've exercised. 2) drink ONLY water every day this week. 3) stay away from the Easter candy.

My goal is to weigh 189 (or less) by Memorial weekend!! After looking back at my old diet records, at this point, I start messing up and putting on weight. I have never in the past ten years gotten below the 199# mark. This is my year and with my Sparkpeople friends-- I know I can do it!!! emoticon emoticon

I quit exercising for a while, so now I am using this challenge to help me start up again. I want to make it into a habit like it used to be. I think 10 minutes daily is a good way to start.

I'm a single mom with a hectic home schedule. I work a desk job and rarely get away, even eating lunch at my desk. So while 10 minutes of brisk walking a day really may not sound like much, it is going to be a real challenge to do so consistently. So here we go!!

I've been working overtime lately, and pretty physical. Was beating myself up for not tracking or exercising for a few days. I make a point of not sitting down at work; should give myself a break for that. Ate better than I would have with this fatigue level than before Spark. Holy *&(*, let's give ourselves a break AND not use everything different for an excuse, for a change...! I'm looking like a good team player and making some extra money while the weather is still sucky; cool beans. Going to schedule the birthday highlights and cut early for that pampering thing. I'll have to start the Week 1 over; that's ok. It's so helpful to hear everyone's goals and obstacles.

For the first week, my goal was just to tick off those 10 min of exercise. I did that, and faithfully, but now I'm to the point where exercise is not exciting enough to get me interested... more of just a "oh yeah, i need to do that..." So the next goal should probably be to keep doing it, but *enjoying* it....

Move quickly. Sound, calm mind. Be light in body. Have a clever mind. Master the basics.
