Great job on sticking with it! I just finished W1 D1 yesterday and I was about ready to die on the last run. I'm hoping this gets easier soon. I did find that it was easier, believe it or not, when I was on the treadmill at a solid "run" pace rather than a shorter stride or slower "jog" pace for the 1 minute runs.....has anyone else felt this way?

I started yesterday. I really didn't want to because a sinus infection is getting the best of me. But... my boss who is also getting started with this sent me a pic of herself going out for her training. I had to do it. I need that motivation and the need to report to someone. I don't want to let her down, but then again I can't let myself down either. The run went well. Even though I've never been a runner! My daugher went with me and helped alot! The goal is to run a 3 mile leg of a 1/2 marathon in November.

Thank you all for the feedback emoticon

I took the advice and when I ran Wednesday -- I stuck to the 20 minutes and did longer periods of walking so I wouldn't hurt my ankles -- so far so good!

Feeling pretty good. I am having some pain in my shins. But I think its more having to do with muscles being used that I wasn't before.

When i first started, before starting the program, I was at a 18:00 min/ml pace today I'm at a 12:34 min/ml pace. So really happy about the improvement.

Its about progress not perfection!

I wouldn't do to much all at once since your body is trying to adjust to running. And if your ankles still hurt, you can always increase the walk intervals for awhile.

Your are correct in just sticking with the plan as scribed. I've done it before although I didn't finish for other reasons and it works. I got to week 5 in my last attempt. Being a person that has never been able to run even in high school. Plus, if something hurts, we're less likely to stay with it. I'm headed out now to do w2d1. Keep with it!

My first day was completed yesterday. It was HARD -- since I have gained so much weight, my ankles hurt really bad. I tried not to over do it -- I did what felt right and if anything hurt I just walked instead... but here is what I did: I walked for a few minutes and then I would jog for about 1 minute and repeated for 40 minutes. Now that I know the plan, I will do it for 20 minutes instead since I am trying not to hurt myself emoticon
